How does the weight of your CC gun stack up?

Bout 2.44 lbs dry according to Wiki, I don't notice it, maybe cause I lost about 50 lbs a year ago. IWB it's great, nearly non-existant, but OWB it pulls my pants a bit like the Coppertone ad.:)

Loaded SIG 229 - 2.5 lb (40oz)
Loaded Bersa Thunder 380 Concealed Carry - 1.25 lb (20oz)
(what good is an empty gun? )

If your CC gun is over 20 oz, how often do you carry it?
Pretty much any time I'm awake.

Every day like others and that includes sitting here at the computer,in the car and walking/chasing kids through the stores.I have been doing this since 1994 and with about or the same type of weapon.Yep even in the summer with shorts and t's on.

Infact the lightest gun i carry would be my g22 but i have kinda made a safe gun out of it.Now in the new year i'm buying another snubbie just to say i have another one,but more than likely i won't carry it(bedside gun mabye).

Smith & Wesson 4516-1 - weight loaded - about 43 oz. Yes it's heavy - I try not to do much running with it (and don't). But the weight limits the recoil and lets me take very fast follow up shots. I carry it every day.

I love my 4516's but if I started jogging outdoors, I'd probably need to get a lighter gun.

My main choice for carry is my 3" Sp101, weighing in at 28oz unloaded. Second choice is my Glock 36 at ~20oz unloaded, 27 loaded.

Weight has never been much of an issue for me. I actually prefer carrying the Sp101 over anything else I have, even though it is the heaviest. With a good belt and holster, its not cumbersome at all.

In the "civilized" world (In-town), my Charter Arms .38 or my Walther PPK/S are light, not even noticible in my jeans pocket or jacket. In the woods, my Ruger Blackhawk .41 is quite a load in a belt holster, but well worth the trouble.

Both SW 642 and KelTek P-11 are 20 ounces loaded. I know the difference when I carry my XD-40 service. I like the lighter weight. Don't have to balance my pockets.:)

empty weight:

S&W 627PC 44.0 oz.
S&W 329PD 26.0 oz.
S&W 391TSW 24.8 oz.

None of these does weight pose a problem. I carry them under different set of conditions.

I think that weight and concealability are two of the main factors that prevent more people from carrying. What do you think?
I Agree completely. I have a compact 9mm auto and a .357 snub that weigh about the same, yet the revolver with it's short grip and rounded shape is easier to conceal.

My main carry guns are a Smith j-frame and a Kahr PM9; both are mainly pocket carry for the 8 months it's tank top and shorts weather here in central Texas. Both weigh in the 15 oz range and I don't notice them at all in a good pocket holster. When it's cool, I generally switch to a Kimber UCII, which weighs about 25 oz unloaded ... I carry that in a belt holster and while I do know it's there, it's certainly no burden. I'm amazed that folks carry 686+'s and 40 oz 1911s, but I only weigh about 160, so perhaps you, uhh, heftier types can pull it off.

S&W Model 60-10, 3" barrel, 24 oz empty, add a few loaded. I don't find it particularly difficult to conceal now that I've learned how to conceal on my body wearing the clothes that I wear. (*Not* the same as you guys, of course.) ;-)
