How do you go concealed-carry in a T-shirt and Shorts ?

I live in Florida and have my concealed carry license ., although im a novice Gun owner who practices about once per month .

I spend about 95% of my time in walking Shorts and a white T-shirt due to the heat here . I wear loosely fitted T-shirts but am concerned about having my GLock semi auto .45 under it for fear the outline or color black will be seen thru the T-shirt . Id really like to carry the GLock , but id consider carrying my .38 S&W Airlight Revolver which is a whole lot smaller . Ive also considered gutting my zip-up Calender Book of its metal binder rings....and carrying the GLock in it when i walk around . Ive thought seriously about a Fanny Pack but am a bit self conscious about the gay stimgma associated with it.

What do you do when youre in Shorts and a T shirt alot ?

Any ideas welcomed . Thanks.

Maybe a small S&W J frame in your pocket is about all I can think of, but I live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland, so I have no idea. :)

I have a thunderwear type setup but things can get a little humid with extended time carrying if you what I mean. I typically wear cargo shorts and my G26 fits well in a side pocket. Its also small enough that I can IWB it and a shirt covers fine.

In Atlanta it gets pretty warm in the summer and I generally go with shorts whenever possible. One thing you might consider is wearing either a polo style shirt or some of the short sleeve button up shirts that are designed to be worn un-tucked. They can be found in a variety of materials including linen and really are not any warmer than a t-shirt. As a matter of fact I consider a nice linen shirt much more comfortable and better looking than a t-shirt.

I’m in Florida, too (Melbourne area). I wear cargo shorts all the time and wear a sleeveless T-shirt with an unbuttoned sports shirt over the gun. I started off with Hawaiian shirts because I thought the pattern would make the 1911 or Glock 17 I wore in OWB holsters less noticeable. That was a waste of time. No one’s looking for guns. No one’s going to notice any bulges under your clothes. Unless you’re a supermodel or on fire, you might as well be invisible. No one’s going to look at you at all. Now I wear a lot of monochrome shirts over a 19-round XDm 9mm with a JPoint sight. It’s pretty big on my 143 lb frame, but no one ever notices.

I don’t wear a gun under a T-shirt, but I doubt it would be a problem. Don’t worry about it.

J-frame in front pocket; possibly compact auto in cargo pocket (and pocket holster); sometimes auto in plain old IWB holster under baggy t-shirt.

A trick I have not tried, though I know somebody who does this, is to get a thigh holster, then cut out the pouch from the inside of his pocket. He reaches through the pocket slot to access the gun on his thigh, against his skin and under the material of the leg of his shorts.

Belly-bands would be another option.

Loose t-shirts can work well, too; white is not a great option. Patterns and designs can be good for hiding bulges. White... not so much.

And we all know what happens to white t-shirts when they get wet (rain, humidity, sweat)...

Shorts and Hawaiian shirt. I have a new found respect for all old farts in Hawaiian shirts in Texas...

EDIT: CTAC IWB or Galco slider (commander sized 1911) depending on the combo. Don't forget a proper double hide or kydex reinforced belt!

I live in Florida, too, and have been carrying concealed for many years. Fanny packs are often seen here, if you want to use one of those. I have one that I use a little bit. Far more often, I wear a leather IWB holster with a tank-style undershirt under it and a loose T or button-front shirt over it. Columbia or other brand fishing shirts are great with the net lining, sun-resistant outer layer, and lots of pockets. Beall's sells them at reasonable prices, and they also sell lots of other shirts designed to be worn with the tail out, and not all are Hawaiian prints. Many options are available if you look around. White T-shirts are not great, though.

if im not pocket carrying a keltec 32, it would be either a keltec p11 or g27 with the clipdraw in my waistband, usually at 4oclock

IWB holster, either Whitehat Holster, or Crossbreed Holster. rarly a t-shirt, usually a button down type like a cuban, or hawaiin shirt. BTW i live in central florida this is my attire nearly all year long. the only time i dont carry in this maner is when we go swimming. then i carry maxpedition bag with my BUG

Darker shirts help to conceal the lines of the gun. I carry my snubby IWB and don't usually wear much more than a polo shirt and jeans. Concealed carry usually involves some compromise.

if you can live with "downsizing" a sig p238 in a wallet holster in the back pocket. never had a problem with that set up.
if 9mm is the smallest you'd consider look at the R9 or kahr pm9 in a smart carry.

Motherly advice you did not ask for, from an old guy!

If you choose a pocket gun, please use a pocket holster. Google MIKA and he will make you a custom fit pocket holster that stays in the pocket when you draw the gun - if you don't like the way they look then check out DeSantis. Just saying, you do not want to carry in a pocket without a holster and make sure nothing else goes into that pocket.

As another Florida resident, I use a pocket carry mode with a J frame. Wearing cargo shorts eleven months of the year, I found this to work best for me.

Crossbreed super tuck for me (glock 19), only thing is I verify that said t-shirt is long enough.
otherwise I go kel-tec pf9 in a pocket holster or a j-frame.
