How do you feel when you CC?

"It's actually normal to feel that way at first. It quickly passes however. The more you carry, the more you'll see that no even will give you a second look."

Agree; remember we really live in a Condition White world here in the US. All those folks out there have no clue what's going on around them and aren't focused on you. You are aware you're carrying, but nobody else is. I just started carrying a few weeks ago, and already there are times I almost forget I'm carrying! Make it a natural state for you. Just remember, Concealed means Concealed if that's what you're supposed to be doing. Nobody knows and most people are totally unaware and in Condition White.

When a guy got in my face, I kinda wished I hadent brought the thing, then I coulda opened up a can O whoop azz on him. With it, I had to back down and l let him go with his arms and legs intact :(

Other time the drunk neighbor whos dog had my cat cornered for like 3 hours, I wish i didnt have it then same reason, I would hate to have it fall out and the guy take it and shoot me with it...... so I usually just keep it in the truck.

On very rare occasions, I feel stressed out,,,

But one must first define stress.

"Definition of Stress"

The confusion created when one's mind must override the body's desire to choke the living crap out of someone who truly deserves it.

This sounds like a frivolous post but it's really not.

Just a few months ago I was in the WalMart parking lot,,,
Some young punk was barking (like a dog) at a proverbial "little old lady".

I really wanted to walk over and slap the punk senseless,,,
But I was carrying my handgun so I felt it wasn't wise.

Instead I walked over and offered to help her load her groceries into her car.

I gave the punk (high school senior or university freshman),,,
My most fierce eat feces and die look,,,
He got the message and left.

I know I did the right, correct, & smart thing,,,
But it was definitely very "stressful",,,
I wanted very much to slap him,,,
He truly deserved it.

The purpose of this post is not to tell a cool story,,,
But to relate a necessary shift in mindset when carrying a gun.

One can not succumb to the urge to be a street avenger,,,
There lies madness, as well as prison time.

How do I feel when Carrying?

More comfortable, as my pants fit me right with my gun IWB.

When I have to go into a GFZ (kid's school, Post Office, Courthouse), I get a case of droopy drawers.....

Was that Peppermint Patty sealed in its' original wrapper?
Yep, I keep it next to my tactical Mars bar. I figure there's a good chance that an adversary may have an allergy to chocolate or nuts, thus making it a good fallback. Nougat can be a powerful ally.

This sounds like a frivolous post but it's really not.

Even without the gun you couldn't go up and slap the kid. It would still be assault since he had not done anything to physically endanger another person. You would still be looking at an arrest record and possibly a criminal record.

You are not allowed to be a street avenger at any time.

LMAO Honestly I am with you brother and sometimes its hard to restrain yourself. Especially when you know they deserve it. I have that problem mostly on the road because no one can drive anymore.

--Back to the topic though, carrying is as natural as breathing air. I love the feel of steel in a good IWB holster on my belt :D.

I'm new to CC but I got to say I was nervous and felt like everyone knew I was carrying. I actually went to the vehicle and took it off.

Normal.

You have been conditioned for YEARS by society to view carrying a firearm as out of the ordinary. It will take some time to counter-condition yourself, but rest assured, it will seem as normal as carrying a wallet soon enough.

Everyone worrys about printing. With cel phones, I-Pods, etc everyone is printing.

+1

You bet, with all the modern day electronic gizmos that people are carrying everybody’s printing. Also, no one notices because everybody’s caught-up in their own lives, wear your pistol and forget about what total strangers are thinking, because they’re think about work, kids, do I need milk etc…

When I'm carrying I feel like I'm 6'3" 200 lbs and mean as a rattlesnake. Oh crap, I am 6'3" weigh 200 lbs and I'm meaner than a rattlesnake.:D So never mind!

The first time you carry concealed is a lot like the first time you ever got out on a dance floor. You think everyone is staring at you, and seeing all the mistakes you make, when in reality they couldn't care less.

After a while, you get used to it.

Since I've been carring concealed for about 16 years.
I wear very baggy clothing. And one size larger than normal.

My pancake style belt holster is my choice, it formed to my body.

Works for me. So use to it, I feel naked with out it in public.

The only thing I worry about is if I'm printing or not. Sometimes I'm wearing nice clothes and have my shirt tucked in. If I'm in casual clothes, I make sure my shirt isn't caught on my gun when I get up from sitting down.

Hello MikeNice81,,,

But I might have been able to goad him into assaulting me,,,
That would have been a stress-reducing event of the first magnitude. :D

In Oklahoma what he was doing is verbal assault,,,
But the punks know if a cop doesn't witness it personally,,,
Nothing the little old lady or I said would have warranted an arrest.

Should be against the law NOT to bust a foot off in his rear end..

Carefull on hitting him tho, I hit the heavy bag wit hmy kid and after 5 or 6 hard shots my wrist and forearm was sore. Gotta get back in shape before I whop it real hard like that. Getting old isnt for sissies :)

It's like biting into a York Peppermint Patty. I'm standing on top of a tall mountain, the crisp wind blowing through my hair, wearing frilly silk panties, and holding a stick of dynamite.

So, um...pretty much normal.

@Tom Servo, whatever floats your boat, sir.
As for me, I feel better with my Glock on me than I do without.
I really do need to upgrade to 10mm or .45,though.
So, either a Glock 29 or a Glock 30 needs to find itself in my hands very soon!

I honestly don't even think about it any more. My EDC just seems to be another thing to remember to bring along, like my cellphone.
