Hi Point

go with the pt111, it has thousands of five star reviews. the b6p is an awesome gun, my brother has one, and I know it looks feasible to carry but it is not. I bought the tristar compact(nearly identical dimension as the sar, bit heavier) for carry, I am also buying a pt111 asap. carrying the 75 compact clone gets old really fast. not bad in the winter with under shoulder, but for my 145 6' frame, there is nowhere comfortable for it on my waist.

Ya, that was kinda my thought process. If I can get it for around $200 like its at now once I get the $$$, its probably what I'll get. That's a big if, though, because it might be awhile.

The biggest bargain I've come accross in a handgun for some time is the new Diamondback DB9FS full size15+1 shot 9mm pistol.

Slide is milled from a solid billet of stainless steel, uses Glock sights, metal trigger, high quality magazine, reliable.
Glock-ish clone with better grip profile (IMO).

It's way more pistol than it's modest price would imply.

I recommend the HiPoint C9 for just this type of purchase. Single pistol owner, no interest in shooting a lot at this point, not going to do any maintenance, etc etc.

I have had about a dozen 9mm hipoints pass through my hands over the last decade or so. All worked well. I just bought my first carbine as I finally found one at a price I could stomach($180). Have a line on another older 9mm pistol for $80. No brainer purchase.

I have never heard anyone complain about their warranty work and multiple trips or things not being fixed. They have the reputation of including nice freebies when they return any warranty work. They also have a reputation for fixing things that were clearly the owners fault that almost no other company would consider warranty work.

The LGS will also be getting in some Taurus in 9mm in addition to the Hi Point that will be in his price range. Yess I could sell him my Star but then I would have to find somethng else and I dislike plastic and I probablt wound never find another Star and this one shoots great.

I sent him home today with a Remington singel shot .22 of his that I had fixed and 11 rounds for his Mauser as the LGS only had 15 once fired 30-06 cases but he is also going shooting with his son next Friday so I loaned him a CVA brass .44 Navy so he has something for bump in the night and so he can compare it to the Remmington replica that his son has.

I am thinking that the Tarus or Hi Point will be for his wife and for a house gun but he will want a Pietta Remmington copy with an extra cylinder.

ha, my wife has been buggun me for a week for the nickel-brass ebgrved peitta .44 with the white grips and the 8" barrel. its on sale for 200 vesrus the normal 400, if its still on sale in two weeks, I may have to buy her that before I get my pt111. but I love when she loves guns, it doent happen very often(btw way, her favorite gun is the hi-point 9mm carbine, because its light kicking, pretty quiet, but most of because I made that hideous gun pretty for her). I don't think she understands the work involved with BP pistol. but I have always wanted one as well.

seems like a great deal
