Too easy

Taurus .45 = $480 - 700

Glock .45 = $455 - 515

I will take the Glock all week long and twice on Sunday.
???
The prices I checked have a Taurus 24/7 starting at $345 and a Glock 30SF starting at $531.
I own 3 Taurus (2 revolvers and one semi-auto (PT111)) and have shot Glocks - I'll take the Taurus with the price difference. The Glocks have a nicer trigger, but not $186 worth.

The only trouble I have had w/ my PT111 was during and after shooting some cheap steel cased Brown Bear ammo that I got for next to nothing. It kept having extraction issues w/ the BB, and right after I finished of the all of the BB (~5 boxes), the extractor broke. But w/ Taurus' lifetime warranty, I sent it in and it was fixed and back to me within a few weeks.

I also have Firestorm .380 (same thing as a Bersa Thunder .380), and I trust it, too.

I checked gun broker full size autos to full size autos and those were the prices that listed. With military discount I can get a Glock for $435 at the local shop. They don't even carry Taurus.

I agree with whoever said that a HP makes a good car gun. Ive had a C9 in my glove box for a couple of years, and fire it every month or so. So far it's always worked, but It's to big and clunky for carry.

Recently, I decided I wanted to carry a 45, at least in cold weather, so I bought a Taurus 24/7 Pro Compact 45 and a Kahr CW45 a week later. [I already had a CW9] Both have about 400 rounds fired. I tried to get the 24/7 to fail by limpwristing, firing upside down, etc, but no go. It has been perfect, is accurate, and a pleasure to shoot. I did the same with the CW45, and had one FTE in the first 50 rounds, but it's been good since. However, although it is accurate, it kicks like a mule, even though it's only 4 oz lighter than the Taurus. I've used the same ball and HP in both. I carry the 24/7.

I voted Taurus.

get a tokarev and 900 rounds of ammo. Tok costs around 200 bucks, the ammo costs around 100. Can't go wrong there. You get a reasonable SD firearm plus enough ammo to become proficient with it ;)
