Here is what $20,000 or so of Engraving Looks like

Absolutely Amazing! Thanks for sharing, that is true craftsmanship. Its too bad that so much appreciation of this is handmade art is lost in today's throw-away society. It gives me hope that there is still people like Jim who can do this.

Hey, he forgot to put a little squirrel peeking out of the knothole in the tree!:D Seriously, beautiful work. I would love to have something as nice as this some day.

Time to bring back this discussion!!

Time to bring back this discussion!! And to look at some great work of art.

Anyone know where to find Ken (Wild).

I did pick up a gun that has some of Jim Whites work on it. Not much , it is a Wilson S.G. Presidential 1 of 5 with the slide engraved lightly.

Wow, that is beautiful. I am always jealous of people with artistic abilities. I have tried to be artistic best I can do is a crooked stick figure.

Ken, is that on a stainless receiver? If not, how do you keep it from rusting without a bluing for protection?

Ken is at Wild West guns in Anchorage, AK. He has not been an member of the forum for several years.

Thanks. I saw WildAlaska and assumed it was Ken. My appologies to the OP.

Back to the OP, Same question. Is this a stainless receiver or is there something else that will keep that shiny receiver from rusting?

Wonderful. Another zombie thread ressurected by a newbie. I sure wish Admins would find a way to prevent this.

The only way to do that would be to have threads auto-lock after a certain time period. This has problems of it's own and has been discussed before. In this case, there was an actual question asked by the person who resurrected the thread. In any case, it's not all that frequent of a problem, and not a terribly big one even then.

Here's the discussion on it:
