HELP! Can a 40 lover sell off their last 40 to buy a 9?

Simple Economics;
A 200 rd. 9mm Winchester Range Pack is $47.77
A 200 rd. 40S&W Winchester Range Pack is $62.63
I can pay for my range tine with the cost difference

Not everyone is on the same budget. To some the difference is a big deal. To others it's insignificant.

I use my 9mm for the range and sometimes the 40 to stay proficient. I don't mind the cost difference.

In fact my range fee is $10 with unlimited guns and all day. I can go home to eat and come back for the rest of the day.

I can take my MP15, my HK USP 9mm and my Sig P250c 40sw and pay the $10 plus extra targets.

By the way, I'm stocking up on WWB Personal Protection JHPs because for 50 round box the 9mm is $22 and the 40sw is $27, $5 difference.

My range fodder is usually Monarch brass which is cheaper and those are PPUs.

I considered switching to 9mm a few years ago, then there was an ammo run and there was no 9mm or 45, but 40 was still on the shelves. Always keep your options open.

Ruger, the 41mag is a heck of a powerful cartridge, 10mm pales in comparison to it.

My friend has one since the 70s and it's a Ruger single action. He's mighty proud of it. :)

Problem solved!

Got the 75 B in 40.

Got the 75 B SA in 9.

Really liking the 40....the 9 needs learned, cleaned, shot and new shoes!

The .40cal also filled a particular role at the time of the AWB. With magazines limited to 10rds no matter which caliber you chose, 9mm was losing a PILE of ammo and most .40's were only losing 1 or 2 rounds. And double stack .45's were just not at all popular.

For a period of time, it seemed to make a lot of sense to carry ten .40's rather than 10 rounds of 9mm. And the 9mm had a reputation for not being much a cartridge -- but at least you had a huge pile of them. (until you didn't anymore)

Although, it is also my belief that this ^ will happen again if Hillary wins...
which means we will be back to square freekin one again.

However, there's always the Chicago Reload ;)

Why don't you just buy a 9mm conversion barrel / mags for the Kahr and keep it? (if they sell them, don't know).

That's what I did with my Glock 27. It is still my only .40 but I liked it so I bought the conversion barrel and some mags. Now I might even buy the .357 Sig conversion as well.

40s&w is my go to handgun round, just ask my USP, m&pc, glock 27/23, and FNS. I like the way it shoots and groups out of my pistols plus ammo isn't much more expensive than 9mm. You could always get a CZ in .40 too...

Sold my 9mm and 40sw and got a G29 10mm. Later I got a 40sw barrel for it too. :p

Once you go 10mm there's no looking back. :D

Love my 45s, no flies on the 9mm either. Never been a 40 fan, seen too many case failures. 10mms are cool, love that Colt Delta Elite, though I have my Springfield V16 in 45 Super to scratch that itch. Buffalo Bore 45 Super 255g hardcast at 1075 fps works and my V16 really likes it.

You need to understand that the whole "9mm is now equivalent to all other ammo" sales pitch is not yet proven right? My advice would be to hang on to that .40.
