Help Building Mid/Long Range Rifle

I don't know about the stock and that stuff because that is a choice you need to make for your comfortabilaty but I would recommend a 300 win mag,7mm Remington magnum or 338 lapua .

The 300 Winchester magnum is a very flat shooting bullet and is sometimes use by the U.S. army. If you look at the ballistics of this gun it is much better than most calibers.

7mm is a smaller bullet but neck down is huge. It has a lot of powder and is also a flat shooting bullet. This caliber is smaller so less recoil so if you don't want tons or recoil I recommend this.

The 338 lapua, this is overpowering, it's unfair this is a huge and powerful caliber. I strongly recommend this if you can handle the recoil but the ammo is exspensive. This is used by the U.S. army a lot and its ballistics are amazing.

I recommend a 338 lapua but it's your choice.

Sincerely,
Zach

I and others have won long range matches with a .308 Win shooting against 28 and 30 caliber magnums. Why? Their recoil is a lot less and such rifles are easier to shoot accurately.

30 caliber magnums get 1100 to 1300 rounds of long range accuracy. 26 and 28 caliber ones get 600 to 800 rounds. .308 Win's get near 3000.

They "why" is because you shot better that day

It really says nothing about the cartridge choice, since a good shooter will do well with any rifle that's accurate enough.

Yeah I think I'm going to stick with the .308 for sure... I'm sure it will more than satisfy my urge to go boom and hit things far away...
