There's no legal justification or excuse for resisting or running from the police when they are acting lawfully on behalf of the rest of us and all too often when it happens, someone gets hurt--typically someone not even involved.
I second that opinion. Resisting or eluding the police are only appropriate in unimaginably rare circumstances, and it's much more likely we're talking about someone engaged in a reckless car chase or something. No excuse.
