Yes they were BHPs.

hemlock0013, they all carried the same gun.

the dude, just because my handle hints at that i like beretta 92s doesn't mean thats all i talk about. :-) if that was the answer it would be kinda stupid of me to ask because thats too obvious. FWIW i actually like my Glock 19 more than my beretta 92FS (not that anyone cares). ;-)

ok Stephen A. Camp answered my question so its his turn to ask a question of his choice.

fire away!

Hello. Well, I already asked one or two without having gotten an answer right, but here goes: In "The Silence of the Lambs," when the SWAT officer armed with a handgun opens the top of the elevator, what single-action autopistol (uncocked?) is in his hand? What type of revolver are the uniformed officers using when they go up to where Lecter escaped? What type of auto does the black SWAT officer use to shoot "Lecter" in the leg as a "warning?" Best.

I havent seen that movie in a long time. So I dont remember. But I will answer a question. Because, all I do is watch movies, all the time, so I gotta know an answer some time.

Here's something REALLY obscure: In the '60s spy classic "The Ipcress FIle", Michael Caine is forced to trade in his little automatic for what gun?

Got a better one and I don't know if even I know the answer...In "Dawn of the Dead", what was the big, bolt-action rifle that Peter (the black SWAT officer) was using to great effect on the ghouls in the mall?
Hell they even had a scene in the movie where they virtually cleaned out a gun store... :D

I don't really know if i have the power to do this but i have a suggestion.

in the first part of this post it got really confusing. that is because everyone just threw in questions before they answered one.

to ask a question you have to answer a question and you have to be the first person to answer the question.

so Stephen A. Camp i have an answer for you. The SWAT officer who shoots "lecter" in the leg had a stainless steel 1911 (or was it a BHP, no i think it was a 1911). all the uniformed LEOs had S&W model 10s. in addition some of the SWAT guys had MP-5Ks.

If my answer turns out to be right then i will ask a question next. (see isn't this simple) :-)

Hello, Russell92! You're right on the revolvers being used by the uniformed officers...or close enough. I thought they were S&W M15s, but S&W 4" Kframes is close enough. The black SWAT officer did use a light colored 1911 that might have been stainless steel and I think it was a Commander-size 1911. The gun the SWAT officer had (uncocked) in the elevator was a "silver chrome" BHP. You are up! Best.

since this is for both movie and tv i'll ask 2 questions.

What gun did John Travolta have at the end fight in Face Off?

In the X-Files what gun did Mulder carry in the first few episodes?

Russell 92,

John Travolta used a Stechkin in the last scene you speak of in "Face Off"

I haven't seen a lot of the X-files episodes because of my work but I think he started out with a Sig/Sauer, I saw at least one episode where he used a S&W, last time I watched it he was using a Glock......

My question: What handgun did Sam Elliot use in the movie "Shakedown" (Also starring Peter Weller). Sam Elliot played a plainclothes cop/Weller was a public defender.

ok here goes i hope this isn't too obvious.

in the original thred the dude was close. he didn't have the right gun for either of these but he was pretty close.

also both guns are made by the same manufacturer.

In the "Ipcress File," Michael Caine was required to turn in his Walther (??), for a Colt or Smith .32 (I think??) revolver. I haven't seen that flick in many, many years. J.B.

Don't know if this was done yet, but in the new "Shaft" movie, what gun does Samuel L. carry and shoot quite often?

Answer Please :)

At the very beginning of the show, (first two seasons) Mulder had a Glock 19, until the producers figured out that the Feebs didn't use them at the time. He never actually used it, just kept getting his a@* kicked everytime he drew it. Then a Sig (forgive me but I don't remember whether it was a 226 or 228). The new Shaft primarily uses a Kahr K9 in stainless, but also a Glock 19, a 92FS, and even an Ithaca 37.

I haven't seen it in awhile, but didn't Travolta have a Berreta 93R at the end of Face Off? I always notice that gun, but I could be wrong (I was once before haha)

JB,
You're close. Caine was issued a Colt .32 snubbie. His previous gun looked like an older Beretta .32, a small pocket pistol used by some of Italy's Fascist-era military.

Had to ask that one because I'm a sucker for the original 'Harry Palmer' film series. Still the best spy flicks around, IMHO.

we have a winner. kingknives, He did have a 93R but you only get to see it for a couple seconds IIRC.

Cypselus, Mulder did carry a G19 for a while but not in the first episode. I don't know how many episodes he carried this gun for but i saw the first and in it he carried a beretta 92F. After the G19 he carried a sig 228 and now carries a sig 226.

My question: What handgun did Sam Elliot use in the movie "Shakedown" (Also starring Peter Weller). Sam Elliot played a plainclothes cop/Weller was a public defender.[/B][/QUOTE]

Sam used a stainless Grizzly .45 Win Mag
