There is a lot of mis-information in this thread.
I have been carrying concealed at Disneyworld for about 10 yrs. I am an annual passholder, so we are there several times a year.
Here are the facts:
The official policy of WDW is "no guns". They want you to leave your gun in your car, or store it in a locker provided by security.
This official policy is not officially posted anywhere. In other words, there are no signs saying that guns are forbidden.
There is a very poor quality search of any bags you carry when you go through the gates. They will look in your backpack, fanny pack, and any other bags. Security will NOT look in your pockets, under your shirt, pat you down, frisk you, or use a wand. If you have a 1911 on your belt, and your shirt is covering it, they will never know its there.
There are NO metal detectors at any of the gates.
If you carry onto Disney property and they somehow discover you have a gun (which would pretty much only happen if you do something stupid and blow your concealment), they will ask you either check your gun with security, or take it back to your car and return. Security isn't going to swarm you, and they aren't going to call out Mickey's snipers to take you down. They don't want an incident, and they don't want to throw you out, because if they do, they know you won't buy that $7.00 hamburger for lunch.
If you get caught carrying, AND refuse to go put up your gun, AND fail to leave upon their request, then you will probably get arrested and charged with trespassing because you won't leave. This is a misdemeanor in Florida I believe. It won't result in loss of your gun rights. You won't be charged with anything but trespassing because you haven't broken any other laws (assuming you didn't do something else stupid).
Disney is private property, and they can do what they want when it comes to asking you to leave. Remember on private property you can be asked to leave at the whim of the owner for pretty much anything. It is not a violation of your civil rights if this happens. In fact, you are violating their property rights if you don't comply with the owner's preferences.
Now, all this said, I still occassionally will carry onto disney property but to be honest not as much as I used to. I have never felt threatened in any way at any of the Disney theme parks in Orlando, or even in the parking lots. There are so many people around that it would be extremely unlikely anyone is going to try to mug you there.
The only place I have felt uneasy was one time real late at night near Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney. This is not one of the theme parks, but instead is a Disney owned commercial area with a good bit of drinking, dancing, and general carousing of a more or less prurient nature. I encountered what appeared to be a prostitute and her customer snorting what I assumed must have been cocaine there. They didnt bother us, and I didnt bother them. But I would say Downtown Disney late at night is considerably more surly than other Disney operations.
