Gun Control Activists set up a fake Gun Store in NY

I'm starting to doubt whether this was even done in New York City. None of those filmed had NY accents. At the end, filming took place outside the store - lots of camera equipment involved here. The whole thing seems smells like a real con-job.

The end justifies the means ..... !!!

Far from being educational and objective. Where are the folks who still wanted to buy a gun, legally. I'm sure if I had been in that store, I would be edited out of the video. In addition, I have no problem with any information that makes a person think twice about owning one. These folks should be more involved with educating people on safe gun handling. Personally, I do not promote or glorify firearms. I do promote and instruct ethical and responsible ownership of firearms. ...

I often remind students that they have the "natural" God-given right of self protection. Even a declawed cat will take a swipe at you. .... ;)

Be Safe !!!

Freeze frame count gets me 38-40 guns on display

Not 100s as claimed

I'm kinda tired of working today so I'm going frame by frame---

Lol but looks like I'm workin lol

I'm sure more to come from me

If you want a chuckle or two click here.

Oh, good heavens. That site is set up to look like a commerce site. The dishonesty is truly...well, it doesn't occur to them, I suppose.

I noticed a lack of prices on the website or on the guns in the video. If I had the opportunity, I'd have taken the time to haggle. I'd also ask how the "AMMO" brand ammunition on the shelf performed.

Haha, yeah. They have a Glock 9mm, 7 rds. They must've gotten the first advance delivery of the 9mm single stack. And when you click for more detail, the Glocks don't have an eject opening. And I guess they have the only left handed S&W revolver ever made.

Wow...just....wow...I am at a loss for words, that's gold. Pure (fools) gold.

With the amount of effort put into that website, you'd think they would at least try to put names or make it more believable by including something more than "pump action shotgun".

The pump action shotgun is broken

Anyone have a supposed address? I am in New York City and would love to check it out. Since I have a NYC carry permit, wonder what the reaction would be from the clerk.

rkittine, I'm going over the video to see what I can get from that. Here's what I have so far:
1) I think it's on the Lower East Side. (Of Manhattan?)
2) The number 149 is over the door.
3) It's right next door to a shop, the sign for which says "Leathers and Perfumes."

I'll update this post if I figure out anything else.

ETA: Nope, I can't tell anything else from the video.

ETA #2: 149 Orchard Street -- Source: http://bedfordandbowery.com/2015/03/watch-an-les-gun-shop-lure-people-in-and-freak-them-out/

ETA #3: From the same source, "Although the “gun shop” had a short life, . . . " I guess it's not there anymore.

At one point something reflects in the door that say "NYC"

Looks like an official NYPD officer in the store while setting up

From some discussion elsewhere they are saying there were no "Real Guns" there just "toys & models" (I guess airsoft maybe)? & that all the ammunition boxes were empty so there were no laws broken.

Don't shewt the messenger guys I'm just repeating what they are claiming.:D

I took a quick look at "149 Orchard St, Manhattan" on Google's street view. Its shown as a closed store with a for rent sign outside & gated. There is a leather goods store 2 doors down. Its in what would be called the Lower East Side (of Manhattan).

That SA nickel 45 revolver that the fool is tricking the "customer" into thinking is a 22 that killed a little kid sure looks real.
Same for the Glock.

I so wish someone pro 2a would have walked in and called the ATF as they walked out.
Real or not, their day would be a mess...

That's a big bore .22

I'm betting a few are sorta real

There's a news article a couple of posts up that kept calling them guns but since they're just sitting around in stacks of boxes with no one paying attention, I'm guessing they are replicas...

Even caught a glimpse of an AR laying in the pile.

real or not, I am sure they have been deactivated in one way or another....barrels plugged, removed pins....whatever was need to do the shot. I am sure MOST of the inventory was fake with a few "real" de-commissioned guns. I find it VEERY unlikely that any of these guns were used in actual shootings. that would take a whole lotta paperwork on the police's part

I went to that "gunswithhistory" website and clicked on the first time buyer link. I then answered some questions as to whether or not a gun will make me safer and it said: "INSTEAD OF MAKING YOUR LIFE SAFER, A FIREARM COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY AND FATALITY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. THE HISTORY HAS ALREADY PROVEN IT. LET’S NOT REPEAT IT. THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING A GUN." LOL.

I guess I need to immediately remove all guns from my house, as they pose an imminent threat to my family's well being.

I also like the "semi-automatic assault rifle". Well... It can't be both a real assault rifle, and a semi auto only rifle.

Thanks rickyrick, that was funny.
