"When a cop tells you to do something, do it"

Be good sheeple and do as the cops say and nobody gets hurt.
Are cops trained to use tact anymore? Or is it suposed go straight from bellowing orders to throwing a tantrum when your orders are not followed? If she had tried to get up would he have had to resort to deadly force?

Cops need to remember who they are policing, the same people that are paying their salaries. Piss us off and you may not have a job.

Could one of our LEOs please state the protocol for using a Taser? What actions merit it being used? Verbal disagreement? Verbal abuse? Noncompliance? Combativeness?

I think this lady exhibited simple noncompliance. Thus the Taser was used by the officer to speed up the process of booking her, not to protect himself or other officers. That is unacceptable in my opinion.

Lastly, how does a Taser affect a pacemaker? Does anyone have any data?

Where do my taxes go (or did go, for that matter)? Which cop was I paying for?

...happened in April 2004 when Kidwell came to the police station to check on her granddaughter, who was there to accuse her of domestic violence.
The 'surveillance video' isn't that good. Besides, if she was there visiting her granddaughter who she may have just smacked around, what, exactly what was she resisting? There's more to the story that isn't being revealed. Looks like another case of shoddy reporting of year old news.

Drive on, busdriver.

Your going to hear that it was for her safety.

if the old bitty had complied to be handcuffed she wouldn't have been tasered. the oldest, dumbest rock on the planet could have figured that out.

but it was beyond her apparently.

again, when will people learn

Ya know, my Grandmother is a pretty fiesy hardheaded lady, is yours?

I don't know the circumstances that led to her being in the police station, and I haven't seen the video BUT....

I'd bet dollars to donuts if that was my grandma & she was already AT THE POLICE STATION, UNARMED, she would have been a little reluctant to "comply" too!

I'm glad that wasn't my grandma......

Saw the video, the force used was not necessary. That doughnut eater should be ashamed. Wonder if the granny said something to hurt he tender feelings of authority. Man, when will some LEO's learn.

Not only should he be ashamed, he should be fired immediately, and charged with assault on the elderly, at a minimum.

If she had died of heart failure, it would have been negligent homicide at best.

But nothing will be done, because we are as a collective group, are too afraid of the police state.

Kind of like Europe in 1938. We don't like it, but we let it continue. I mean I really don't see much difference in the tazer, and crank phone shock technique, except the tazer can kill an old defenseless woman much quicker.

I guess it is us that should really be ashamed. Because we are the ones that continue to allow these types of oppressive government agents to get away with beating, shocking, and shooting people. Because just like Europe in 1938we don't want their partners to pull us over and "find" something on us, or use a "dynamic entry" tactic on our homes, should we complain, or demand the "legal system" take action.
