I never had any difficulty transitioning between other pistols and the P7s. Seemed to me that a normal firing grip was always enough to depress the cocking lever, and of course once depressed it takes very little pressure to keep it there. But "the Porsche of pistols" is significantly different from most other pistols, and more expensive to produce than most. No way was it going to be able to compete with something like the Glock. The P7 is not my favorite pistol or I'd certainly have more than the single P7M8 I still have. Still, the P7 series of pistols are of very high quality, reliable and very accurate. To each his own though. I don't like some of the pistols others swoon over. It's all good that we have such a selection of quality pistols, and in most states are legally able to own about whatever we want and can afford.....ymmv
