Glock VS SIG Sauer.. but in my head.. (danger)

I pocket carried my Glock 26 for a long time here in Miami. I have not had any issues at all with rust (internal or external). The Tenifer finish is VERY durable. It penetrates into the metal and even areas that show a little wear do not rust. I lent my H&K USP to my best friend for a week long canoe trip through the Everglades and the sights started rusting. H&K uses their Hostile Environment finish on the USP, but I guess the sights didn't get that treatment.

As for the new Sigs, almost all of the new models use milled stainless slides. I had a Sig P228 for a long time and I have 2 P229s. If you clean and oil them, the internals should be fine. Now if you take a swim in the ocean with your gun strapped to you, I would trust the Glock better since it was subjected to salt water tests for extensive amounts of time.

1911 is a range toy.

Good thing these guys don't know that.

^ So? A Toyota Corolla LE is a passenger car, but it could still go 100mph.

The guys in MARSOC drive Corollas I guess. But to your point Marines don't spend a lot of time in/near water. ;)

As I said above I think what we've become accustomed to as Company X's entry into the affordable 1911 market isn't necessarily indicative of how reliable a 1911 could be. If you look at the report of the original XM9 trials the 1911 did pretty well in a number of areas that would surprise most people. Just like AKs not being terribly inaccurate, not all 1911s are unreliable.

This is true too... Every single manufacturer and their mother makes a 1911 with different specs. It's sad really. Much more difficult to have parts interchange. But I'd take a Wilson Combat 1911 any day! :)

I deal with the some battle lol. I have a few Gocks and Sigs. I beat on both and have never had any problems with either. I do find a Glock a little more comfortable and easier to conceal. For me what I grab depends on the weather. When it's hot glocks get more action, cold sigs. I keep a Sig in my briefcase most of the time. I enjoy how they both shoot so it just depends on carry comfort for me. I trust all my guns by both manufactures with my life. Even my Sig 1911 which has shot covered in dirt 1000 rounds without cleaning and not a single malfunction.

Yeah, you sound like me. Raining, hot, beach, boat, activities...Glock.

Going out at night. Hanging out. Etc. SIG.
Can my SIG do everything the Glock does? Yes. In my opinion most even better. But when it comes to issues of rust, it's like the cancer of guns and my Glocks are not able to get cancer while my SIG's get it very easily.

I own basically a top of the line firearm from Ruger, Glock.Sig,Smith n Beretta - I settled on the Smith Shield as my EDC due to its ease of carry, reliability n accuracy for a 3 inch barrel semi.
Other guns that I really really would never part with are- Glock 21SF, Beretta PX4 Storm full size 9mm, SIG P 320 n my ole reliable beast Suoer Blackhawk 44mag. One underrated n fantastic accurate 22pistol is my Beretta U22 Neos.
Too many firearms too little time..
