I've sent these pictures to a P38, exclusively, expert, that guy knows everything about these guns.
It is not a factory engraving. Custom made.
Was it made during or after the war - we will never know, could only keep guessing. Still, he also agreed, quality looks quite good so it might of been made for its original German owner. It could be just a present or something.
Anywyas, it's a nice shooter so I'll just enjoy shooting it at the range every now and than, since I am buying it anyways! It is still a WW2 pistol, also I think it looks fantastic and at a pretty good price.
