Georgia Arms reloaded ammo - why buy?

I have shot GA Arms for over a decade. I do order from others when see a deal. I have shot their 30-06, 30 car, 38, 357, 9mm, 45 acp, 8mm and 223. I have been very happy with their stuff. Ammo cans are very useful.

I make a conscious effort to avoid China Mart. I feel like some of the mediocrity attempts to rub off on me every time I go there

John, I agree. I order on line because Wal Mart is a pain in the rear.

AA + 1, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one who REALLY DISLIKES WalMart!!

The Aggravation level of shopping at W/M will never be worth the small amount of money saved.

I used to like Georgia Arms ammo quite a bit. Until a case of .380 ruptured is a nice term in my P3AT. Kel Tec was kind enough to rebuild it for me. When I spoke with Georgia Arms they let me speak with the CEO supposedly. He said to send the round back and they'd do all this stuff. They didn't do squat but talk. Lucily I was wearing my safety glasses because I did get some back splatter. Later read about Georgia Arms ammo blowing up some AR's. Lessons learned?
1. Never use reloaded ammunition. The only instance I'd argue about this statement is if it were my own reloads. Then if I mess up it's my fault.
2. Always, always, always wear your safety glasses.
3. Quality control on most products has gone out the window in favor of the "get it out the door we'll worry about it later" unsaid slogan.
4. I call it the "Pinto Mentality". For those of you to young to remember Ford knew the Pinto automobile had a bolt that would puncture the gas tank in a collision. The bean counters basically figured out it would be cheaper to pay for the small number of lawsuits from it than fix it.
They put a price on men, women and children to figure out a cost benefit analysis. Not just Ford by any means. G.M. had the Vega. Audi's and V.W.'s were starting themselves up or jumping out of gear. Hence the park/lock feature on modern cars. And do we even need to bring up Toyota's latest?
Just be careful if you use it. I've had remington rounds with backwards primers. Winchester round with no primer, powder all over the box.
They literally and in some cases for the better don't make things like they used to.

Tenasaw

As I happen to drive by the Ga. Arms folks in Vila Rica to visit my son in Cartersville, I usually stop in and pick up a can of .45 FMJ- $330.00. I was given a can of 800 +- rds some 18 mos ago, and we burned it up in my new XD 100 on the range at Eglin. Didn't have a missfire or loss of a round for any reason. Since, I have gone through 2 more cans (2000rds) with my XD and Kimber .45, and only have had 2 rds, fail to fire. I have seen more failures to fire from an equal amount of issue 9mm in the M9's They are a small company, about the size of my tracor barn, but their ammo is popular practice ammo with a number of police depts. My experience is limited only to thier .45 acp 230gn.

Buying remanufactured ammo.?

There is a good reason.
If you have to shoot someone and, shome hot-shot lawyer bring up the liability aspect. If you buy from a company they the "lawyer" has someone to sue besides you.

Georgia Arms New Ammo and Other Sources

I have bought quite a bit of ammo from Georgia Arms, but what I bought was listed as new ammo.I've never had a bad round from them(which is more than I can say for Federal),and my only problem is the shipping cost because I live in New England.
I like their 45 Colt and 44 Magnum cowboy loads-the former are easy on the SAA's and the latter comfortable to practice with.
I got some of their "Ruger only"Deerstopper 45 Colt and that is some stout stuff out of my Blackhawk.
I also bought their 9mm 124 gr Speer HP's which i carry.
Their 45 Auto Rim is reliable and pretty accurate.I'd like to be able to run into them at a gun show, but thye don't come up this way.
BTW Georgia Arms has great customer service.a package of rounds broke open in transit and I was 150 short. They told me they'd settle with UPS and shipped me the missing rounds immediately. And they were very nice about it.
Two other good sources:
Graf&Sons in Missouri-they are fast and reasonably priced;they carry almost any caliber you can imagine;nO shipping charge-just a standard handling charge-about $6 or so no matter how heavy the order. They seem to like Fedex.
Ammoman in NJ has no shipping OR handling charge, but he has a limited range of stuff-prices are decent in bulk.
I got a whole lot of 38 Super very inexpensive(can't remember exactly how much for the 1000 rds) and it gets here fast because it's not that far.
