Gen 5 Glocks

I never could get used to the finger grooves in my gen3 model 19. So I sold it. I might go handle a gen5. In a year or so. After the fanboys beta test it.

So they came out with a gen 2 all over again...two pin, no finger groves lol. I am glad they are changing the rifling out, maybe we can now shoot lead reloads with out any factory recommendations of no lead or having to purchase another barrel. It does suck if none of the aftermarket parts fit this model, seems like the 4th gens just came out and now a gen 5.

Same half moon cut out on the bottom of the grip 2nd gen ....the mag angle looks different so now all the other mags we have wont work?

I'll probably wait for the gen 5 10mm's to come out. Standard rifling, no finger grooves, reinforced slide rails, and a better trigger should make for a better rig.

I'm not sure I like how they replaced their simple trigger spring with some dohicky though.

Boring.

Some minor internal modifications for slightly cheaper mass production (at the expense of backwards compatibility), some new finish, and no finger grooves (but only because the FBI didn't want them).

Call me when they offer a backstrap that eliminates that silly hump on the grip. Come on, Glock. There's a whole industry built around grinding that silly thing off.

Then I might think about one. After it's been out for a year or two and has the bugs worked out.

If they added a manual safety option I would have several more glocks.

+1911!!!

...and fix the creep caused by slide movement during trigger pull.

Too bad they chose not to address their higher volume of negligent discharges.

With this make my g23 a collectors' item?

What's up with the orange follower? New magazine now or just trying to be different? I've got a ton of 9 and 45 mags that are fine so no worry just curious.

Orange is easier to see and had a contrast with the other parts.

It is supposed to allow quick visual recognition that the gun is empty ready for reload, and not a malfunction stopping the gun. Also better visibility of an empty mag when doing administrative tasks.

I see it as me not having to do or buy several things. Don't have to buy a Lone Wolf land-and-groove rifled barrel, to shoot cast lead. Don't have to buy smooth trigger to replace serrated (those I've seen pictured have the smooth trigger). Don't have to grind off the finger grooves.

Of course, by now I already have done these things, so I don't have any real need to jump to a Gen 5 right now.

There is that, of course. New recoil assembly means a potential repeat of the Gen 4's teething problems.

Just handled a G5. Not that impressed. The snub nose was nice but every thing was meh..... No slide serrations make me wonder what Glock was thinking??? Our industry test with a G3 for a reason. I could tet one at cost today and I didn't so........
