Gale McMillan is gone

God Bless your family in this sad time. Gale was a great man, I wish I had asked his advice more, but you always think you have all the time in the world.

Until one day, you don't.

My condolences to the McMillan Family. It sucks to lose a father, I lost mine when I was 15.

Gale was a very respected member of the shooting community and he will be missed.

Dear Rock,

I am touched and saddened. In March I came to Pheonix, and your Dad, in between tests and numerous hospital visits, took the time to talk to me, and set-up a tour of the factories because he was not able to attend personally. I am sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to know him better. Our brief talks on the phone and exchanged emails meant alot to me. His legacy in the firearms industry will long be remembered. I am a better man for knowing him.

Respectfully,

Jeff Hamilton

Goodbye, Gale. In the short time I "knew" him here at TFL, I had appreciated his wisdom. I was watching a Bonanza rerun the other day, the one where little Joe leaves his favorite rifle on a steep ledge and has to retrieve it later - that episode reminds me of the McMillan advertisment where the guy is scaling down a steep incline to get his rifle, and the caption says something like "I'd leave it, if it wasn't a McMillan stock." Just a tidbit. We'll miss him.

My condolences to the McMillan family. I am sorry for your loss.

Get your 1911s and AR15s while you still can!

My thoughts and prayers are with your and your family. May he live on in your hearts and your actions. God bless.

I kept avoiding this topic, because it reminds me of my own father's eventual death. It is a hard thing. It is, indeed, "... a terrible freedom."

I can work on the hay shed tomorrow. Today, my dad and I will ride down by the river.

The loss of a good man affects all of us. Rock, I hope you have many good stories of him to tell around your campfires. He will live on in the telling.

-William

Sorry that you lost a loved one. It hurts to loose someone that close to you. I am sorry that I did not know him in person. You have my condolances.
