First Handgun, 2 questions ??

First hand gun shot 9mm German Luger 1969
FIRST owned 357 RUGER SECURITY 6 1972 ,Traded for super blackhawk 44
still got it:D

First one I ever shot? My Dad's High Standard Sentinel. From there I went on to his other .22s, .357Mag, .38 Super, & .45ACP.

First one I ever bought? Browning BDA 45, bought new in 1980. Still have it.

Ummm... last year... my 6" 686-4. Yes, I had a LLLLLAAAAATTTTEEEEEE start but I'm catching up fast :)

OF COURSE I still have it, it's an awesome revolver and still one of my very best favorites... and it has about 15 companions. :o

the first gun i ever shot was during a, frankly, poor gun safety introduction before proper range time, it was a glock of some sort, 9mm. i believe it was a full size? didnt like it too much, though i was complimented for my accuracy ("for a first timer!")

first gun i've owned?
believe me, ill let everyone here know when i purchase it.
right now im torn between a beretta 92 or a cz 75b. id like something all steel. the bhp felt great but a bit expensive. i still havnt shot a cz and its killing me.

to a lesser extent im looking at an fnp9, possibly a walther p99 or a ruger sr9. so many damned choices man. i need to find a range near me with more stuff to shoot. this sort of decision can drive a man crazy, eh?

oh, i almost forgot. i didnt purchase this, it was a gift from my stepfather, but next to my bed gently rests a taurus .44 mag revolver. ive only shot it once, put about 20 or so rounds through it. sweet jumping Jehosophat and Fulburt Wisenheimer's Uncle Norbert, talk about a report. after the first five i looked at the small mound of rounds on the bench thinking "oh man"

Drink the CZ Kool-Aid my friend,,,

I have shot many a round through the Beretta 92,,,
I am here to say it a very nice handgun.

But I recently got to fire a CZ-75B,,,
I loved that Czech Lady.

I have small hands and the Beretta grip is just too fat,,,
The CZ fit my hand much better than the Beretta.

Yes, I am the newest CZ FanBoy,,,
I'm so happy with the one I just purchased,,,
You would think I had something to do with it's design.

The one definitive statement I can make is this,,,
I can see someone liking another pistol better than a CZ-75B,,,
I simply can not imagine someone holding one and saying "This gun sucks!"

Drink the Kool-Aid Shrewd,,,
Drink up I say!

Turned 21 five years ago. It was a PT1911. The bug got me, all my firearms started multiplying like rabbits. lol

Still got the 1911. Just got a holster for it.

My first gun

The first gun I ever shot was my da's old .22 snuggle...I believe Clerke was the manufacturer. I t wasn't a bad little piece of hardware, actually!! The first gun I ever bought was a Kel-Tec P-11 (which I sold to my dad by the way) that was a sweet gun!

Springfield Armory XD-9 SC w/ Crimson Trace
Kel-Tec P-32
Omega Arms .22 short
Ruger LCR
Mossberg 12 ga.
Para Technologies 410 ga.

My first handgun was a Ruger Mark I 4 5/8 inch barrel. I bought it back in 1970. I kept the Ruger for eight years. I learned to shoot with the Mark. No finer pistol for the first time shooter.

1st ever shot: Ruger Single Six, .22LR.
1st center fire ever shot: Ruger Security Six, .357 Magnum. Loved it.

1st I ever owned: S&W Model 17, six inch barrel, .22LR. Christmas gift from Mom on the first Christmas after my father passed away. Of course I still have it.

1st I ever bought: S&W 686, six inch barrel, .357 Mag. Bought it with money from my first job. I was 17, I think. Love it. Of course I still have it!

Many since then... but I've only ever sold or traded one handgun in my entire shooting life, spanning more than 20 years. But I'm currently in the position to sell/trade two more, to bring that total to three.

First shot: Ruger 357 revolver. Didn't care for the feel or balance at all. Decided to go Semi-Auto.

First owned: Sig Pro 2022. Excellent pistol mechanically, but the size and shape of the grips were not very comfortable for my hands. Sold it to pay for a P30 which fits like a glove and it my current carry and IDPA gun.

The first handgun I've ever shot was also the first one I've ever bought/owned. That is a Dan Wesson .357 Magnum 6" barrel revolver. Not sure exactly which model (a few look the same to me) It shot ok, but I also didn't have as much handgun firing knowledge as I do now. And due to not having a lot of money, haven't been to the range very much since I've learned more. All I know is that my groups all hit the target, and weren't ridiculously out of whack. I hit within where I aimed, and that was good enough for me.

The gun itself needs to have the barrel loosened, as it is basically touching the cylinder and locks up after many rounds. I just haven't gotten around to buying the simple $40 barrel wrench for it. >_> But I think if I buy another .357 (which I plan to within about a year's time) I might sell that one off. I'll still have the hypothetical new .357 (hoping to Be a S&W 627, unless Ruger makes an 8-shot .357) as well as my SP-101.

I never considered myself an old timer, but since I've been shooting for 45 years now and have owned guns for 43 years, I guess I am just that...an old timer:o So here goes...

My first handgun was a 22 target pistol. It was sooo long ago I couldn't begin to tell you the brand (Maybe Ruger). I haven't had that gun for 30 years now. Some one who helped me move helped themselves to it. I just can't prove it.

The first gun that I owned that I still have is a little 9mm. I don't really shoot it anymore so it just stays in the garage in my toolbox. It is a (gulp!) Hi-Point. It is an old solid steel gun and weighs a ton. Doubles as a hammer if you unload it first! (very important) There is no place in the safe for it. Too many S&W's and Glocks, etc. in there already.

My first gun was a S&W 357 magnum 6" blued that i purchased my self
back in 88 or 89...no exactily sure.Sold it a year later for a semi.
Wish i still had it although the semi i got was a good gun (p89)

I guess that I am an old timer now. The first handgun I ever shot was a 4" S&W M&P (mod 10), my father's service revolver, when I was 6 years old. It was stolen in a house burglary in 1967. The first pistol I owned was a S&W mod 19, the gun that replaced the M&P. My father gave it to me for my 16th birthday and he started carrying a mod 66. I still have the mod 19. The second handgun I bought was an arsenal rebuild 1911 with a Colt slide on a Remington Rand frame and SA arsenal stamps all over it. I was 18 and it only had 6 rounds through it. I got it from a former 'associate' of my father's who acquired it in 1963 when he was headed to Cuba, but the plane turned around and landed back in Florida instead. That was traded for a BHP around 1986 that I still own today.

First handgun I ever fired was my father's .38, don't know what make/model. I was 6 or 7 years old at the time and thought it was the coolest thing ever.

First I ever bought was a S&W 6" Model 19. Still have it and won't part with it for love or money. :D

First Time

First one fired was a Colt SAA. That was in 1958. I think it was a .44, but I know for sure it was black powder. The first one I ever bought my ownself was a Model 28 Highway Patrolman in 1971. Still have it locked away.

I shot a Colt 1911 Govt. once (hit a pop can first shots). But I loved blasting away with my 92FS airsoft gun in the back yard. Many many rounds with that sucker.

I dont one but I am planning on i for my 21st.
