First Gun: HKP7 or Glock 19?

Damn Lawdog, you beat me to it! :) I was also wondering why he was decocking the pistol in a tactical situation.

As for the original question, I'd have to weight in on the side of the Glocks, since you can have two for the price of the HK. I really like my Glocks, and they're very reliable. I have no argument with the P7, just a bit pricy for many folks.

well spank my ass and call me Judy! (re "if you're in a tactical situation where the 'click' might get you in trouble--why are you de-cocking the pistol?")

You're right of course, in most cases :)
When on the move (in matches etc) with my 1911, I flip the safety on, though. And it takes only 1.5 lbs to keep it on, with the P7. Still, I prefer stealth all the time...

I have the HK video on the P7 (I bought the gun after watching the video and shot my friend's P7). It is an over-engineered and very well made gun. However, it is not as fun to shoot for me. I agree with SAWBONES that it is all personal preference. I still own both and prefer to shoot the G19.

Best way is to test fire the gun before you buy it at your local range. :D :D :D
