First acquisition of 2012?

I was pretty surprised by my first purchase... a JC Higgins Model 60 semi-auto12Ga shotgun. It's in very good shape and has a fixed modified choke. I figured if it works, it'll be a fun dove/clay gun for $130 out the door.

Went out and shot it the other day... looks like it's pretty picky. With factory Remington birdshot, it had trouble kicking the slide back enough to drop another shell. So it would lock back but not load another shell. My dad's reloads however worked much better so I'm hoping it just needs some oil and a load that will reliably kick the slide back far enough.

I tried some Estate buckshot and it would not drop the shells out of the tube, like at all. Had to really fiddle with it. Must be different case dimentions... at any rate I didn't like it.

I have some Winchester factory birdshot and Federal factory birdshot to try, hopefully with a little oil and a good cleaning it will function. If not, my dad's reloads worked reasonably well.

The trick about p210

Always watch auctions the prices fluctuate up to 1000 based on which got recently sold. Also depends if u want an older p210 or the new production Legend. This month is a bad month...last month was awesome! Multiple ones in low 2000s and 1800ish for legends. Viewtiful pistols!

Ordered a new crossbow today. Doesn't look like a suppressor is going to happen so going with plan B. Plus, I have the paperwork to get a permit to use it during regular archery season. A win/win situation for me. Now if I can get the price of bolts/broadheads within reason, I'll have another SHTF option.

the lgs to me is selling new in box never fired other than factory target vintage pre 1985 production on gunbroker. They normally end between 2300-2500ish. I will be getting one shortly.

its a titanium frame and rear beaver tail to eliminate the typical unbalance in a 1911 that the rest of them have. the frame is custom fit and the tightest frame to slide tolerances you can get there is no wiggle at all not even a **** hair. the slide serrations have a 3 step milling to them that gives a very unique texture and makes it almost slip proof when racking the slide. and the grips are custom made with a 2 pattern texture to stream water away from the hand and still allow a tight grip. the front strap serrations were cut in before the frame was slabed so that the serrations would go to the edge of the frame vs where on other guns they are cut after and there is a gap between the grip and the serrations causing a pressure point on the fingers.

with the slide pulled back there is almost no slop in the barrel. barely 1/16th of an inch of play from all the way left to right and up and down is the same tolerance. with the slide in battery you cannot move the barrel in the bushing. this is tighter than the les bears, ed browns, danny yousts, and combat precision that i have looked at.

this to me screams function and design. I will be carrying it daily and doing alot of shooting with it.

very few of them are actually out and the only videos are of a preproduction model that was sent to shops to get feed back.

this is the 259th of these produced.

looks nice sarge. I like chromed guns. makes them look soft like they will melt if you hold them to long.

you gunna shoot it or polish it?

Thanks kgt. It'll get used and used hard... already been on it's first firewood expedition. It had a glitch with the OEM chamber, but RIA cured that ASAP; also had to tune the extractor a bit. I've probably run 250 rounds through it in the past 10 days and it's fed everything I've tried so far.

nice. i always like when something just works. i cant stand having to try ammos to find what will and will not work with a particular gun.

I had to google Christensen Arms... damn that is a nice pistol. I always thought titanium would be the perfect base element for a lightweight 1911. Please let us know how it shoots.

i am dieing for someone to make an all scandium slide for one. would hate to see the cost but it would be light as sin.

i film all my shooting so i can review it. i shoot at 50 yards and 25 yards so there will be some feed back on this vs the trp and if the extra 1500 makes a difference.

Haven't made it yet. Hoping I will be able to upgrade my rifle scope for my .308 5R that I purchased a few months ago. Leaning towards Vortex or Nightforce.

scopes are always a tough choice since the wrong one can make a good rifle shoot so so or a so so rifle shoot great.
