Feeling "gun poor"...long term buying slump

partially to the fact I cannot find a gun that interests me lately

I am right there with you. I have plenty of AR's and other stuff. It has to be something really interesting or odd to get my attention and then it is probably out of my price range.

Well, Kahr just came out with a new pocket 380ACP. PBP, you listening? Got to compete with Ruger LCP.

I'm going to focus on Colt and Smith revolvers this year. This past year was a 22 rifle year for me. Lots of things interest me! Merry Christmas all.

I already have a Seecamp LWS380. Until they build one better than that one, and I will not be holding my breath, I do not need another small .380acp pistol. I also have the 9mm Rohrbaugh which dampens my enthusiasm for small carry guns. When I already have what I consider to be the two best of the bunch it is hard to get excited about another one. :)

"It means that you have everything you want."

That's kind of the stage I'm at right now. I've got a dozen, and can't think of any more that I long for right now. I keep looking through "Gun Digest", but nothing pushes my buttons. :(

I was in a slump for 2 or 3 mos. I went in an extreme direction though, and decided to get Impractical guns. My latest is a DE 50, WITH A GSG MP 5 K, close on it's heels(hopefully by next week).

My problem (without coming off pompous) is: I either have it, or, have had it. So, i find that I am just bored with what's out there.

I almost went a bought an American Derringer my dealer has today, but I ended up spending myself broke on some now pots and pans and a Blu-Ray player. :(

Playboypenguin, first you give us this sad luck story about long term buying slump, no guns that interest you, then this bad weather report,,,,
All I can say to you is WAAAAAAA!:D
I have no idea what your safe/safe’s look like but if you cant find even one new gun out there that interest you, your ether dead or some young cute thing is keeping your mind away from the real important things in life, guns.
I would suggest professional help, I understand that some gun shops have this professional help, I don’t really know for sure since “I” have never had this horrible disease known as “Lackus of gunites”.
I feel sorry for you and hope that this is not terminal.:(

I wish...I am too old and too married for that. :(

I found it!

You have a bunch of nice guns in there but you are missing the Deadly Red Cobra;). Even after getting a bunch of pots and pans they are still very affordable. I don't believe you have anything with this type of finish and it would be a great back up gun to your Seecamp.

Playboypenguin I have figured out what your problem is.
I am an exert in these matters and I know what will relieve your major health problem.
You’re spending WAY too much time keeping your safe tidy, and not enough shooting.
See the attached photos.

P.S. that junk in the lower right,,,, thats my wifes, some kind of important paper junk stuff.
I ask you, what do women know?

I have the urge

but am in transition as a state resident. Caught in limbo. Able to buy in FL, living in TN, no state TN residency yet....etc. Haven't been in a LGS for months.

Evaluating some possible purchases but as of yet undecided. I don't have a "real" EBR, so maybe that's a possibility. No full size high cap SA either, so maybe something in that genre.

I am accumulating loading equipment and starting down that road, a neophyte, starting with some .38/357 SGDFSB replica loads and reading and purchasing to the point of actually pulling a handle in a couple months.

Continue to build the high quality inventory of commercial ammunition.

In the interim I have modified a Maverick 88 turning it into an EBS. ;)

Picked up a nice Specter SOP sling and butt mag holder for the NRA Mini 14.
Two more 20 round magazines since Ruger lightened up.

Am going to order some 10/22 mags (Steel Lips), swap out the el cheapo plastic stock for an collabsible EBR (Tapco). The 10/22 Tapcos in black, like loading supplies are often in back order mode.

Working on the "man cave" for loading and outdoorsman stuff HQ.

Picked up a 50 inch plasma and HTIB that could have funded a couple of nice pieces.

Converting the old man cave into a wet bar zone.

Trying to keep the economy moving. Some good deals out there and it is a good time to buy if the liquidity is there....though only after saving, saving, saving.

Happy New Year.
