Rich- the data can be gotten from the North Dakota Dept of Justice, Motor Vehicle Theft Div. Ask them for the numbers of recovered stolen vehicles and the location the vehicle was recovered from is listed on there. I ened up with a copy from a police officer as i had a stolen car dumped behind the auto shop i managed and i asked him about numbers.

As to your comment i talked to another mod and i now understand the original comment context about white trash however im still wondering as to the context of why you wondered if i was white trash?

Well, umm, considering there is no such Agency as the North Dakota Dept of Justice, I'd be hard pressed to believe I'll get much of a response from their "Division of Motor Vehicle Theft" :rolleyes:

Look, I didn't say "you" were bigoted, SW. I said your STATEMENTS are. I didn't type them, you did. I then tried to let you off the hook gently. But nooooo, you wanna backpedal. Fine. Try this summary on:

- You claim that "81-82% of stolen vehicles in the state of ND (that are located) are either recovered from or located on (unrecoverable) the reservations." That alone raises a red flag in terms of credibility. If it's a statistic, it's either 81% or 82%. If it's a guess, or a BIAS, it's "81-82%"

- When challenged, you claim you've seen the statistics, available from "the North Dakota Dept of Justice, Motor Vehicle Theft Div". I point out there is NO such Agency or Division.

- When called on it, you admit the disinformation and go on to blame it on "an indian fellow", with the explanation, "Usually i trust police officers but there always are bad apples. "

And you question why I call your STATEMENTS bigoted? Ummm, because they clearly are.

You know, the statistics on the letterhead of "the North Dakota Dept of Justice, Motor Vehicle Theft Div"? Or did you long ago discard them, but clearly recall the "indian fellow" asserting that they were from "the North Dakota Dept of Justice, Motor Vehicle Theft Div"?

Technically, the thread went off topic with Powderman's anecdote back in post #31 and never came back.

What we have been left with, is a pissing contest.

While I understand the principle involved, it is off-topic.
