Favorite Military Surplus Rifle

Favorite to shoot...Springfield Trapdoor, takes skill and expertise beyond pointing and shooting.

Most accurate...without a doubt, the M96 Swede

The most stupid fun to shoot...toss up between the AK47 and the M1 Carbine, they both eat ammo too fast. The M1 can actually group shots though within a 100 yards.

Ugliest...Enfield, good design and very shootable, but ugly.

Most dependable...k98 Mauser's

Slickest action...the Krag's

Most horrendous action...the Mosin's

The one that actually won a war....the Garand

I can't believe nobody mentioned the Finnish M39 yet ... Mosin-Nagant ruggedness with K31 precision.

If (like me) you buy a lot of military surplus 7,62x51 ammo you can choose between a lot of very different rifles:
* Bolt action
I had an Indian Ishapore 2A1 that was fine but I sold it when I got an FN K98 (made for Israel). I also have a Spanish FR8 that is basically the same only shorter and with peep sights.
* semi auto
I got a cheap Garand with a shot out barrel and had a 308 barrel installed. It's the most precise semi 308 I've owned.
I had a G3 that was replaced by a FAL that was replaced by a Galil. I can't imagine anything that could replace my Galil SAR :D. It's definitely the most fun rifle I have/had.
