I had this pair of large black birds crapping on my nice new MF tractor. Seems that he and his mate were roosting above the feed room in my tractor shed! One afternoon I pulled up and happened to flush them out of there and up into an old dead oak tree. I had 2 guns with me, a 2 1/2" 22 H&R and an open sight Marlin 336 loaded with 125gr Fed 30-30 hp's. The choice was clear, they were about 60 yds away and I held right on the closest one. Looked like a bomb went off inside him! The other one took off and landed on another tree on my Uncle's place. Sneaking up to within about 50 yds I slowly squeezed another one off. I'll be damned if that (Big Black Bird) didn't start to take off just as I fired! Well I did hit it, took it's head clean off! Seems if it would not have jumped, I would have shoot just over it.
