Favorite Handgun That You Ever Owned

That is a bit of a tough choice but my absolute favorite is the first handgun that I bought with my hard earned money when I was 21 years old. I put it on layaway and finaly paid it off months later. In the meanitme I was eating top raman. It was an HK USP .45acp and was such a sweet handling and perfectly reliable pistol. Like a dummy I sold it 10 years later because there was something else new and exciting that I wanted. Man, that HK was a sweet pistol.

That's easy. The 2 guns that I would never trade or sell. My S&W Model 13-1 "Pinned and recessed". and my W. German made SigSauer P220 45acp.

That would be Lucille,,,

I have a lot of revolvers and my second favorite varies from time to time,,,
But Lucille is always my favorite of them all,,,
She was my Mother's pistol.

I shoot her all the time,,,
She's no Safe Queen.

I hope to actually wear it out,,,
But my body will probably give up first.

The 4 in Python I traded off back in about '81.

I'd like to take at least a part of that day back:mad:

Anything coffee can sized or bigger was fair game, . . . open sights, . . . out to 100 yards.

May God bless,
Dwight

That'd be my Ruger SP101, .357 magnum........

It has been my constant companion for the last goin' on 7 years.
It rides in a Galco strong-side, high-ride, open-top pancake holster.
Always covered with a shirt or in Winter a sweater.
Mighty Comforting companion, to have along.

1927 Argentine (Sistema) Colt...

.45 ACP.

Built in 1947, don't know when it was imported, it doesn't have any marks.

I've had it for close onto 30 years and it would be the last I let go of.

Function, accuracy, and, yes, even beauty (), it's the standard by which I measure the others.

It's in the safe.

Best,

Will

The 6" Colt Python I sold in my (largely wasted) youth would have to be THE Top pick.

My pre-lock, 4", 686 is filling the void admirably these days however.

Favorite Handgun

Had to be a Colt Officers model Target with 7 1/2" barrel. It was stolen in 1964. As a teen and pre teen I hunted everything that walked, flew, or crawled with it. Over the years I bought two more but it was never the same..........

Like many others, hard to pick just one.
Past?
- A Ruger Single Six 5.5" in .32 Mag ca. 1984. Need that one back.

Current?
- Rare/non-catalogued "4th gen" (late 3rd) Colt SAA 5.5" in .44 Special.
- Honorable mention. Pre-Lock S&W 65LS (Lady Smith), various Ruger Vaquero .44 Mags, various Ruger .32 Mag "Vaquerito" Single Sixes.

Prospective/wish list?
- Ruger BH/Flattop .44 Special,
- Dan Wesson 1911 "VBOB"(Valor Bobtail) .45 or similar but pricier: Ed Brown Special Forces Bobtail .45.

If I had to pick from all of above for an "only 1 gun allowed" scenario?
- Brain driven: 65 Lady Smith. Choice #1 of current/actual owned
- Visceral/heart driven: Colt SAA .44 Sp and #2 choice among actual owned
- Brain + heart and the winner (but close): Ruger .44 Sp BH/Flattop don't currently have.
- These three could switch (or the above 1911) on any given day!

586 DCM

My S&W M586 .357 DCM 4" - former police chief's duty weapon - got it for $250 with shoulder holster and 1 speed loader when he "upgraded" to an automatic back in 1990 - best revolver I have ever owned or shot. Smoooooth trigger.

Well I have nine handguns. Six double action revolvers and three semi-autos. But the one I have always been fond of is my Ruger Police Service Six 4 inch police service revolver. Its been with me the longest. In a close second would be my S&W model 10 4 inch revolver. I am a revolver guy and grew up with revolvers.
So, here is my two favorites.

Thanks,

My Colt Mark IV pin shooter. A trusted friend that at one time was giving me over 500 rounds of happiness weekly. Will always be my favorite.

Yea, I like 'em all, too. And that is a bunch. But, favorite is ... at the moment ... one of my Pythons. Shoots well, smooth!, even pretty.
