End to ALL caliber wars!!!

I get a 1911 from Springfield...My friend does too.

I get a SIG P226 E2...My friend gets the P229 E2.

What gives?!!?!

Congratulations!! You are now, officially, a bad influence!! I have proudly worn that title for over 30 years, much to the consternation of my friends wives and girlfriends.

lol whoohoo!!!!

Constant! All around me!

Yeah...this thread is now more pointless...Just wanted to share a story! Is that so wrong!??!!?! An admin even commented on it.

Oh well...

Im with ya bud. Shot placement over caliber any day. That's been my theory all along. Although I would at least like a .380 but I'll make what I have on hand work. Interesting thread none the less.

Thank you!! Lol agreed with .380 at least. Shot placement is what everyone should be training for and this reckless accident is living proof.

Lol this thread is seriously cracking me up :) and I also agree that shot placement is extremely important and I grew up hunting with a 22lr and know what it will do and feel comfortable carrying one around as a self defense weapon :)

One shot stop.

Estimated caliber was 1.5 inch or larger, which ought to satisfy the big
caliber folks.

Placement was forehead, which is a plus one for the placement proponents.

Cost of projectile was $0.00, picked up at range. Cost of training ammo – free; can’t beat that in today’s economy!

Delivery system was sling. Point being – train extensively and carry your weapon.

Outcome: Goliath 0, David 1

Stone placement

Serf'rett,

Great assessment regarding David and Goliath. Would the outcome have been different if either or both had subscribed to TFL, especially if they had been following this thread?

David had a bit of supernatural advantage and stone placement was ideal - one stone, one kill. Goliath was not provided a chance to demonstrate his choice of heavier weaponry. He was deprived of any supernatural assistance which is too bad and very unfair. If the skirmish was conducted without diety interference it may have effectively resolved the issue between caliber and stone placement.

This comes dangerously close to the point shooting versus aimed fire argument.
