Embarrassing moment at the gunshop

PBP, I just re-checked your "my selling binge is over"-thread and noticed you now own a Kahr P9 and a H&K USPc. aren't those steel-slided/polymer-framed semis as well ?
So what's the big diff. with Glocks ?

I guess quality in a gun is relative. Two years ago I was at a funeral of an LEO we knew, and standing out on the sidewalk waiting for the casket to be carried out. I was standing by a deputy in uniform and I happened to glance down at his sidearm and asked him if that was a Glock 23, he said yes. I told him I didn't own any Glocks but I had heard they were good weapons. He said the department was trying to "trade up" to Sigs but the county commissioners hadn't OK'd the money yet. I asked him if that would be an improvement, he said "probably", but added, "but H&K, now there's a really fine weapon." So beauty is in the eye of the.............

I can think of several reasons to own a Glock. One is if you are ever involved in some sort of self-defense shooting and the police take your gun, you won't cry about it. Another is for CCW in your trunks while swimming because everyone knows they are good for shooting underwater.

I "may" have a couple.

I CC a XD40 and I am very confident that when I pull the trigger it will go bang, but with the Glock it just might go Kabooooom as many have done in the past. But, that is a good point about the police taking the weapon that is involved in a shooting. I would hate to give up my XD40.

whats next bersa, high point?

I've touched them.....

But only to put 'em in the press as we crush them into chunks of pot metal....:D

Thats my metallurgical test...put an 870 in the press and it bennnnnnnnnnnds....put a Bersa in the press and it breaks like a kids zinc toy:p

Glocks or embarrassment

I'm not sure if this thread is about Glocks or being embarrassed. Anyway, here's one for embarrassment: I was at Academy (it's close) and decided to look at a Ruger SR9. So, I racked the slide, and as it came forward it bit the crap out of my hand (the one I used to rack the slide). It seemed to have little teeth on either the slide or the frame (I forgot which - probably due to my traumatized state). I handed the gun back to the attendant (who didn't see what happened). I walked away with my hand bleeding. I probably did something stupid, but it didn't make me a fan of the SR9.

PBP,you better be careful with those Glocks.

They're like rabbits.

Get two together in a gun safe and pretty soon you have ten.

See,it's already started.:D
