Does The .44 Magnum Get People Mad ???

Aug:

Perhaps you meant your comment in jest, regarding shooting across lanes at someone else's target.

But, I assure you that if you pulled that stunt with me at the indoor range I frequent OR the outdoor range at the gunclub, I would see you escorted out of the facility - no if's, and's or but's.

I am a considerate shooter, and will take reasonable measures to be a good neighbor at the range. But I care not one whit whether you like my big, noisy guns or not.

stellarpod, don't be goofy.............

on a side note, guys that think it is cool to belch smoke from a diesel pick up are dorks. They are usually the same guys that show up at the indoor range with 44mag (or larger) guns. GO figure.................

Consideration

I try to be considerate when shooting with any caliber. For people very close to me, I offer to time my shots so that when I am firing they are reloading and visa versa.

However, if anyone purposely shot at my targets or was being a total a@@ hole I would try to make sure they were asked to leave the range (whether I am using a 44 mag is immaterial). If it is acceptable to shoot a certain firearm at the range (either indoor or outdoor) then it is acceptable. Use common sense .... use courtesy. But in the end......the girly men/ladies/children who cant stand the noise should wear both ear plugs and ears muffs or they should stay home. Sorry, but guns are loud. One shooter has no more right to be there than another.

Recently, I had a guy at the indoor range shooting beside me and everytime he shot his casings would jump the partition and hit me in the face and the side of the head. It was pretty bad! Yes, it did bug me... but I took it as an opportunity to work on my concentration. I tried to ignore it and shot anyway (three of his casings bounced off my head and landed in my shirt pocket). :) I still shot fair even with random pistol casings bouncing off my head.

Practice under varying conditions.... you'll be the better for it.

My experiance is that women seems to tolerate the sound and side blast of a .44 better than they do 9mm casings down the shirt collar. But guys don't seem to mind watching the hot ****** dance. :D
