Does anyone have a "Sniper" smell test???

younggenious,

I was never a Marine (21 years, US Army), but I got 5 out of 7 right. I have to admit though that I spent 2 years at Quantico Marine Base. I had a lot of fun harrasing the jarheads at the staff NCO club at Camp Barrett. I could get away with it because it was a two way street and every one knew each other. I would never try it at the main club.

Not concerning anything about his sniping etc., but I know a full proof way to tell whether he is a Marine or not (Once a Marine always a Marine). Marines take great pride in the USMC history. All marines know the history up and down. Simple then, just ask him MC history. Here are some.

Good idea. Another question is to ask him who "Chesty" is. I remember that question from the movie "The Boys in Company C". I didn't know the answer then, but I do now.

Whether the duel occurred, I thought Koening actually did exist. At least, the History Channel was purporting to show photos of him when he was instructing at the German sniper school.

I shoot a very accurate 308 rifle out to 1000 yards. The 308 is very deadly at 600 yards, still ok at 800, fading fast by 1000 and very iffy at 1200 yards. The drop and wind drift are bad even by 1000 yards. At 2200 yards (1.25 miles) it is absolute bull**** to do anything dependably with a 308. This guy is full of crap. Watch-Six
