Just to muddy up these waters a bit more, about 20 years back, I got stuck working a 6P-2A shift. Didn't have much more cash than a couple of nickles, so I found a black powder repro of the 1858 Army Remington .44 kit for $20.
Served its purpose, though...Shoulda seen the look on the BG's face. Came out of work to find him under the hood of my car, trying to rip off my battery. When he stood up and flashed his knife at me, and I yanked out the 7-1/2" barrel 44 Army Rem, and thumbed back the hammer....
