The point is that you better get a lawyer that is familiar with effective presentations to a jury and skilled at voir dire.

Internet speculations that your lawyer can easily dismiss this or that by logic - that's a hope but not always true.

The best strategy is not to get into some ambiguous shoot situation and then get charged. Once you are in the bad situation - then good lawyers need to scope out the prejudices.

The most important thing is to scratch hash marks into your slide to represent the number of kills you've made with the gun.

Heh, yeah...does kinda look pinnochio-ish

I've got some funky going-ons with my G20,
as I couldn't find a slide that was long enough to make it look normal...
so I'm having the barrel threaded to accept either a suppressor with a rather unusual build to it,
or the compensator that's being built to look like an elongated slide end...
for lack of better terminology...

Basically, the comp & suppressor will have the usual stuff up front,
but also have a slide-like length running to the rear, to cover the barrel,
so it all looks like a really long-slide pistol, if that makes any more sense.

And yeah, I know I'm making a silk purse out of a sow's ear ;)
But hopefully it'll all be worth it in the end...
which will give me a very quiet and/or very well controlled hunting pistol.

I voted yes before reading the OP . oops . Yea here in CA if I were in court and being judged . I think I'd want my gun full of my little pony rainbows . When I voted I was thinking concealment only . I would not want a hot pink or zombie green grip sticking up from my ccw holster . I try to keep the colors matching , black grip black holster .

Sad, but true

The fact of the matter is that if you are on trial, the outcome is not based entirely on whether or not you broke the law. Your fate lies in the hands of 12 people who probably have no legal training. They may have anti-gun or pro-gun predispositions, there is no way to know. They may be open minded individuals who are willing to look at the facts of the matter with as little prejudgement as possible, or they may have already made up their minds and are just waiting for their chance to cast their vote regarding your guilt or innocence, regardless of what is presented in the court room. Because of the jury system, there are so many variable factors that have little or nothing to do with the law that we cannot discount the idea that the model, color, name, or any other aspect of the gun can be used to make a SD shooter look guilty. Prosecutors know this, and they will not hesitate to twist facts and use inuendo in order to sway the jury, even when the facts point distinctly toward a not guilty verdict.
