I was referring more to the ones who said the would go down to Cabellas and buy a rack of perfectly good mil-surps and turn them in.

If it's a really messed up gun, I think it would serve a much better purpose for you to practice your gunsmithing skills and try to restore it.

I guess if you want to take the idiot's money, then go to Home Depot, buy some pipe, weld it together into something resembling a bunch of zip guns and see if they will take it. It will probably turn you a much better profit too.
 
For the exception of some pellet or BB guns, I would never trade in any of my guns for a 200 buck gift card.
Not even if the gun dont work and was given to me for free!
 
As a matter of fact, I do! I have two old Glenfield M60's. One has about 25,000 or so more shots thru it than the other. I would trade that one in for a $200.00 card.
