do you have a gun you'd trade for a $200 gift card?

i just saw on my local news that the city is rounding up guns again, this time they're offering a $200 gift card for a large grocery store or dept store. i have a few milsups that im into for less than $50 and was thinking of running one of them down for some groceries.

what are your thoughts on the guns for gift cards programs.

Short answer is no.

I have an old Sears break-open 12 ga that is worth about $125.00 but it belonged to my grand-uncle, so I wouldn't take a $200 card for it.

I'd go buy a Hi-Point or Lorcin at LGD and flip it for a profit.

I wish they'd do that here. I've got an old .22 short Rossi Saturday Night Special that I'd gladly give up for a $200 gift card (especially a Walmart card where I could use it to buy ammo).

I dont have any that I would make that trade with. Seems that even if you had $50 in cost you have that much in paperwork, extra ammo, or what have you. It would be funny if gun owners would offer a thing like this and just keep them for their own collections. :D

I don't like such programs at all, they're trying to get rid of guns and offering a flat rate no matter what the firearm is. Any guns they get will probably be crushed down.

No... but I'd go buy a nonfunctional piece of junk for a few bucks so I could trade it and stick it to the kommie anti-gun goobers. ;)

I'd get some lorcins, ravens etc. flip 'em and go buy ammo:D in a heartbeat. And laugh all the way to the store

If they did that here, there is a rack of cheap mil-surps at Cabela's up the road most of which are less than $200 after tax. I would then ask for Wal-mart gift cards as they will order guns. Flip enough and they just paid for a new gun!:D:D

I have a Jennings J-22 I would trade for a $200 grocery card any day of the year for. It was included when I bought a tacle box full of fishing lures for $30 back a few years ago. It will shoot at least the first round before chocking. I do not think I have fired more than 10 rounds out of it in the 12 years I have had it. I would not miss it. I have a few other .22 lr guns that I shoot a lot, and they are as reliable as the ammo in them.

Me too... I'll take a couple bags of groceries for this ol' keyholing Rohm .22 any day... Hey, it's tactical... Make me an offer...

An I.J. .32 and 2 H&R .38s that belonged to family members would go in a heartbeat. I've never shot them and won't while I have good guns to be sentimental over.

If it's not taxpayers footing the bill, why not.
And $200 is lots more than most gun buy backs offer.
It'd be kind of tempting to clean out the closet of some old junk.

ive always been leery of these gun buy back programs as you turn them in to an actual police officer but i guess i'll take an old mauser down, im into it for less than $50 and right now its in pieces :D

what city is this? is there a length of time of ownership for the gun to be eligible. I'd def go buy some hi points or satruday night specials at some pawn shops. help stimulate the economy, then take the profits and buy more ammo.
can never have enough ammo, we were lucky this zombie season heh.

I was saving my 2, custom chrome plated Jennings, (one with 100% real fake ivory grips), for investment purposes, but I might be tempted to trade both in for $400. :D

For 200 bucks? Hell yeah! I've got an unfired CBC single-shot 12 ga that cost me 28 bucks. Last I checked it was worth double that.:p But for 200 bucks, it's gone.

That is, if they'd do it here.;)
