Do you have a gun that is commonly thought of as crap?

Do you have a gun that people on line often post that it is a piece of crap but you find it to be a fine or even excellent firearm?

For instance,
I have a Walther PPK/S made by S&W. It was recalled. It had never had an issue before nor after the recall. It shoots great. Everyone that has shot it, at least 7 family members have shot it, and no one has complained, and those that are serious shooters have complemented it and want one. It has ran every type of FMJ and JHP that I have ran through it while my other brand .380 I named the Jaminator because it wouldn't fire three in a row.

However, I read online that S&W ruined the PPK and that they are crap.

Do you have a gun like that?

Wow this could get ugly quick.

I own a lot of different makes that everyone seems to have an opinion on. Everyone thinks what they have is way better than what you have.

Colt 1991
Ruger P85
Glock 19
Kel-tec P11
And so on....

Never had a problem with any of them. I wouldn't own one that didn't work as advertised.

I have a Phoenix .22 semi-auto,,,

Everyone says this gun is a POS,,,
But mine functions perfectly.

I did have to repurpose it though,,,
It makes a great paperweight for my desk.

Notice that I didn't name any guns that I think are crap! That should be the rule for this thread. Only name guns you like that others commonly think of as crap. Tell what you like about the gun too!

Yep, got three.

Two Jennings .22's, one blue the other chrome, that have never missed a beat as long as I've used name brand ammo. The little blue'd one has many, many rds down the pipe.

Taurus Judge thats been a blast to shoot. There's a small group of us that get together about once a month and we always run 50-100rds or so each of "home-rolled" 410's one of the guys loads. Been doing that for a couple yrs now and we haven't had any trouble out of them.

I've got a Walther PPK made by Smith. Didn't know they had the rep. of being a piece of crap. Mines more of a safe queen as its got all kind of scroll work on it and is to fancy for carry.
Would like to find out its value.

Yes and No.

I have two Titan .25 autos that function perfectly.

I have one Jennings .22 that really is a POS/paperweight.

Acutally, it's a pretty thing and makes a good paperweight.

I have a CZ 100. The trigger gets a lot of bad reviews online. With a little cleaning and polishing, it is long but ok to me. It is a very reliable pistol that feels right to me. It's accurate also.

junk gun?

i have a taurus milpro 9mm (gen3) that has fired everything i have put through it, the only ftf was with tula ammo, second pull fired it. it shoots poi with 124 gr ammo all day long and with 12+1 in a compact size makes a great ccw for every day.

Nope . . . . I have to honestly say I like all of my guns - H & R, Colt, S & W, Ruger, Bersa, Remington, Rogers & Spencer . . . .

Nope, afraid not. About the closet I have is a Bushmaster. That being said they've cleaned up their act well in the last 10 years.

If you are happy with it and the way it performs, why give a rat's ear what others think?

The Makarov.

Except for the cult followers, almost everybody thinks this is a Soviet copy of the Walther PP chambered in the also-stolen 9mm Ultra Cartridge, and that it is a cheap, heavy, blowback pistol that was already obsolete and impractical for military use when it was officially adopted. And that's true. But...

...it is a surprisingly reliable and accurate gun adequate for the bedstand (as long as you don't have to use the little sights at night) if you can get some potent ammo like Buffalo Bore's. For $100-$125 bucks, its so worth it.

I have an AR upper made by Blackthorne which was given to me by a family member who hadn't heard the bad rep of that company. GUESS WHAT?? That upper shoots very well and is 100% functional with every type of ammo I've put through it.
The person who gave it to me said that when they talked to a lady at the company and told her what they wanted and why, the sales lady commented that she'd make sure it was special. Fine shooter regardless of the name as far as I'm concerned.

I have a Derringer 38 spl made in Miami Fla that has been called a paper weight on many forums I have never fired it and most likely never will.

Why yes, actually I do.

This gun seperates the men from the boys, real gunman from microsoft commandos, it's that simple!

Either YOU got it, or YOU don't! The 9VEnergizer works every time!;)

Intratech Tec-9M

The company was basically sued to death by rabid anti-gun nuts. Intratech QC started slipping in 1987 as the owner's time and financial resources increasingly went to fighting lawsuits filed by the families of people who had been killed by criminals using Intratec weapons.

The weapon only fires FMJ, and the brass must have a wall thickness of .028. But following those two guidelines my Tec-9M has been problem free.
