Disliking Glocks 2

What the heck is all this "second strike" crap? Has anyone ever needed two strikes on factory ammo? I've shot thousands upon thousands of rounds through my handguns, and I've never needed this "feature".

Real experience, not whim: I bought a G17 several years ago, maybe it was just that particular batch off the line, but it was klunky, had an icky trigger, and I never got comfortable with it. I tried using it in the IPSC matches in minor power factor, it ate my 9mm hardball handloads no sweat, but still wasn't my cup of tea. I ended up selling it and some full capacity mags to a lady who wanted an easy-to-handle self defense pistol, and it fit her like a charm. Two happy people, I took the money and bought my 3rd 1911A1, which I still have to this day. Different strokes for different folks. At least it wasn't a S&W Sigma, which is a poor copy of a Glock. When I was a range officer, I saw more than a few of those things choke after just a couple rounds...

Agreed. And how many times does a second strike work anyway? If a round is a dud, its usually a dud IMO.

BB,

No, but it sure would be a nice feature to have if it did happen in the face of eminent danger don't you think?

Just as easy, and a whole lot safer, to rack the BAD ROUND out then waste time and possible second failure with a second strike on the faulty round. Know your ammo.

What is the deal with the Glock bashing and dissing?

Fine. That just means better pricing and availability for me.

Say what you will but you will be assimilated. We are Glock . . .

Anyway, here's my experience, my Sigs (P226/P220) broke their trigger springs twice and the Sig finish wears after a month of holstering.

My Kahr K9 and several MK9s I've observed have coughing problems with hollowpoints.

My SWs (3913/5906) also have coughing problems and mag feeding problems.

BUT my Glocks keep on ticking like a Timex. They will shot jacketed rat turds charged with mouse farts. The only problems I've had were ammo related caused by a reloading, charging, and improperly-seated bullet caused by me or a bullet manufacturer.

Quit vibbing because no one cares about that smack.

PS - cops have been shooting themselves with guns since the U.S. Marshalls formed.

They are people and make mistakes.

And BTW - what gun is SAFE? All of them are dangerous but manageable.

All of you guys better go to any major competitive forum, and see how many Glocks are there. Why? because they work, thats all. You know, people who shoot 10,000 rounds plus a year, they use guns that are reliable. Anything else is just opinion. And remember, everyone shooting a Glock now was shooting a 1911, or something else, before.
