I believe Glocks and Glock like guns were
built for the young police officers of the
new liberal society that really have no interest in guns, not seen as a hobby but
as a can of pepper spray. However if anyone
likes that, buy, buy, keeps the economy
going and yes "right now" we are semi-free.

My model 19 is one of my favorite guns. I have had it for many years and it is as reliable and accurate as ever. I put a Hogue wrap around grip when I first got it and have loved it ever since.

Now that I can carry, I went out and got a model 27 with pinky extension. IMO it is the best weapon to carry concealed. Powerful, small, lightweight and very accurate in my hands!!!

Hey Bullet,

Maybe you can tell me why all those 40+ year old people you see shooting in competitions every time a match comes around shoots Glocks?

Can of pepper spray? Ptoooey,,,,Hardly my friend.

Little advise, dont try to understand why other people buy certain guns that you just dont happen to like, you will never find the answer. Civilians were shooting Glocks long before Police depts issued them. So where is you theory now?

Are you trying to say that you dont like Glocks or something? :) :)

I just got a used Glock, model 27 with .40 caliber. I don't really like its safety feature which is not that safe at all.
Now I want to trade it away for a more compact model for better conceal, better safety feature and I'd liked to stick with .40
So far no luck because most dealers wanted too little for it. I want to get a least $500 because it has night sights.
I was looking at H&K, S&W 99SW but they're too big. My Glock is still the smallest subcompact .40 out there. One dealer said there is a brand new .40 model that just came out but I forgot its name.
Is there a better, smaller model with second strike capability or double action out there?
Thanks for any input.

As many of you all know, I once was Glock's biggest detractor. They were ugly, boxy, and while I did not mind that they were made of polymer,Chucky Schumer, the demented little voodoo doll hated them. That was enough for me!! ;) Two things happened. One was my aquisition of a Ruger P95, then I got a Walther P99. The second thing that happened, was that I got a (cough cough) GLOCK for my birthday!!!!! What was I to do!! Whats worse, the little bugger started to grow on me, just like an ugly, but loveable kid!! Anyway, to make this sad tale of woe short, and sweet I now own two, and want a third!!! Help, I'm addicted!!!!

I'll leave Tupperwear to be stored in my wifes kitchen cubbard. Nothing compares to fine steel IMO and they last longer too.

I don't care for Glocks. I absolutely admit they are innovatively designed, well manufactured, very durable and reliable, and (for most people, but not for me) quite accurate.

And that's the trouble: compared to many other top-quality autoloaders (Sigs, H&Ks, old Colts, Kimbers) and to excellent revolvers (Rugers and S&Ws), I can't shoot accurately with my G23C. This is not intended as an affront to Glocks in general or to their owners. But in my hands, a Glock is a far less accurate weapon than any of my other handguns.

I used to be a Glock detractor also..
I could never afford one until recently.
Now that I have the money, and now that I've shot and bought Glocks, nothing else will do.

I really don't understand this whole glock bashing thing. If you like 'em, great. If not, great. I mean really, if you don't like it, don't shoot it. Why all the bashing? I dont like lots of guns, but you wont see me posting a thread about it.

So much for the tactical tupperware. No safety to many undertrained cops shooting themselfs instead of the bad guys and the liberal media whinning bout unsafe guns???

Buy HK, in a world of compromise, some don't.

BB,
Some people bash Glocks just to annoy Glock owners, sort of a sport in certain circles. :)

Why the need to investigate constantly why people like Glocks? You either like them or you don't.

Recently bought an HK USP .45 and love it. I am used to shooting 1911's so the function is virtually the same. I wrote Front Site Training Center in Las Vegas, NV and they recommended that I get the Glock .40. I was considering a Glock but it didn't fit in my hand (too big), and the safety issue was a problem for me. I don't understand the bashing either, but it does make for good competition and healthy trash talkin. My advise is to shoot the most reliable gun that feels the most comfortable in your hand. No point in getting something that doesn't fit your hand even if it is the best gun in the world. Guaranteed that I can outshoot you if your gun does not fit your hand and mine does. Just something to think about.

I won't argue about, or try to take away from the Glock's reliability.

However, I still dislike Glocks, and will probably never own one.

There.

I said it.

As far as being safe goes, I'll take Glock's safe action system over any other out there.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for that firearm to go off unless the trigger is pulled. It is completely at rest until you start to draw back on the trigger. Not so for MANY other models, including the 1911's in condition 1.

Besides, the only real safety for ANY gun is the one between your ears, so external safeties are not a reason to NOT buy a Glock.

Like was said before, if you like them, buy them and shoot them with confidence. Ergonomics is maybe the key component in buying a handgun, so if they don't fit you then leave them alone.

As far as steel being stronger and more durable than polymer, I daresay that rust is a MUCH bigger threat to your gun than it is to mine. I don't fear moisture in the least. Do you?

I'll put my G21 up against the 1911 any day.

I went to the range today and shot 5 boxes of ammo(3 Winchester,1 Speer and 1 UMC)thru my new G23 w/Trijicons,not a single malfunction and accuracy was very good.Keep in mind that I have been using my Sig 229 in 40 for some time now so I have to get used to the Glock trigger once again.Anyway,I was shooting at a distance of 7-10yds and keeping the groups to fist size in the center ring with many of the rounds going thru the same hole. The Rangemaster said I was flinching just a little bit and also muscling the trigger,so I should get much better with a little more practice.I let the Rangemaster try it and he put all 10 shots in one ragged hole about the size of a silver dollar about 10 yards away,he told me afterwards that the gun is a keeper,I would have to agree. If I can remember, this new G23 is alot more accurate then my old one.Its really funny how you can have 2 of the same product and 1 be much better,oh well,at least I'm happy !!

I really didn't see any bashing on this thread on the first one. Just some valid reasons why posters either liked or disliked Glock pistols. I think they are neat and a great design but dont fit me worth a nickle.

Don't normally add to these type posts, but was compelled to join the fun.

For me personally, Glocks s#ck.
Tried my darndest to like them, already respect them (but seen plenty jam/fail at USPSA matches, and yes, they were stock), but just never warmed up to them.

Put over a ton of money into a M20 trying to get it "just right" but never even got close.
Sold it to a friend; he loves it.

So. like all things, different strokes...

...but Glocks are just another brand of gun. If people tried Ruger autos as much as they try Glocks we wouldn't even be talking about Glocks LOL.

Hey Bandit :)

When all your beloved steel guns rust to dust, I will let you store whatever parts you have left in my tupperware, you have my word? Get back to me in 10-15 years, if I need some nice wood grips or something that you had on one of your tough steel guns maybe we could work something out.

Thats the first time I have heard that steel is going to outlast polymer, guess you learn something new everyday.

All sarchasm aside, I think some of this bashing and their is bashing on this thread (read above)comes from jealousy in a sence, comes from traditionalists that do not like change even if it is for the better, or it just comes from people that just cant understand why a pistol like the Glock has become the #1 selling combat pistol in the coutry. Who could argue with you.

To me, they fit my hand and just seem to be the perfect gun for me, their ruggedness is second to none, they are easy to maintain, have a higher capacity than most guns on the market and in my experience are the most reliable guns on the market even over Sigs in my opinion, I own many guns I love Glocks and Sigs the most, Glocks just excell where other guns stop.

I have a G27 that has got to be the best carry peice on the market IMHO, try finding that fire power in a gun that size, you would be hard pressed.

Like what you like, is that hard to do, instead of a "Disliking Glocks part two" how about a what guns do you not like part two? Really we are fellow gun owners here, these threads seem a little demeaning to me.

Ohhh,,,,,and the tupperware thing is really getting old, all the Glock heters here should be able to come up with some better ammo than that.

I like the term Fantastic Plastic myself :) :)

Funny how you never here od the USPs and Sig Pros being called tupperware, hmmmmmmmm makes you wonder doesnt it?

Cheers!
