Democratic party may not be lost after all

No, they're not the same. The executive order business is worse. The Democrats are at least maintaining a semblance of procedure by using Congress to push gun bans. George I just picked up a pen and said, "These guns are now illegal because I said so."
My point was that this thread was about Democratic Party vs. Republican Party. The Bush EO was introduced here to show that somehow the two political parties are the same in their view of the 2nd Amendment. All you have to do is read their respective platforms to see this is not case. All you have to do is see how they operate at the state, county, and local level viv-a-vis the 2nd, and who provides the thrust behind such legislation as preemptive statutes defending gun owners in anti-gun communities as well as concealed carry legislation. The idea that Republicans as a general rule are as anti-gun as the Democrats is laughable. Bush Senior's EO notwithstanding.

Semblance of order? As in blocking the nomination of any justice the democrats perceive as Pro-Gun?

"Check your headgear, new guy!" from FMJ! ;)
