Democratic party may not be lost after all

Democrat party to give up on "gun control?" Don't believe it!!

The guy who wrote the essay in question may be a Democrat and a gun owner, and he may well hope that the Democratic party will abandon its obsession with destroying the Second Amendment and disarming lawful gun owners. All that may be true.

HOWEVER, reality once again rears its ugly head. Newsflash, folks: IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. Look at the "players" in the Democratic party at the national level: Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Billary Clinton, Howard Dean - every last one of them is a dyed in the wool socialist and gun hater through and through. As long as these people are calling the shots, the Democratic party will not forsake its obsession with disarming us all.

What they will do is what John Kerry attempted to do - masquerade as a hunter and gun owner during the campaign season so that once elected, they can do what they really want to do: Gut the Second Amendment and disarm We The People.

The bottom line is this: The Democratic party - and the candidates it trots out to run for national level office - with the notable exception of Zell Miller - CANNOT BE TRUSTED AS REGARDS OUR RIGHT TO ARMS. As long as the socialist power brokers hold the levers of power in the Democratic party, this will not change, plain and simple.

Don't fall for the lies they will try to sell!!!

The problem is that the DNC is not controlled by the rank-and-file Dems. The DNC is controlled by the "elite". There will never be any real change until the DNC is catastrophically defeated at the polls and they realize their agenda is not viable not any more.

I'm an ex-Socialist and, at an early age, a big fan of Karl Marx and Joseph Stalin (Hey! I was only 14 and hadn't learned to think yet - give me a break!).

Today's Democrat Party is absolutely riddled with communists and socialists. I was an active member 30 years ago when I was a socialist and I know whereof I speak.

Ronald Reagan once said he never left the Democrat party - they LEFT him (my emphasis on LEFT). Absolutely RIGHT (and correct also).

Consider these quotes from the then Icon of the Democrat Party:

Can you imagine a modern Democrat saying any of the above? That is some indication of how far left the Democrat Party has moved since 1960.

Socialism is so pervasive in America that cold reality dictates we abandon all hope of salvaging the Democrat party and just hope we can salvage the Republican party!

That Paladin fella, on the Demoncratic board, is veeery disgruntled. He used words like "Militants" and "Cop Killers" and blew his top. No reasonable conversation can be had with someone who is predisposed to think of gun owners as militants and cop killers. He's a lost cause and I hope he drowns in the stupidity of his party politics.

To say that democrats are socialists and communists is far too simplistic. It is like saying republicans are fascists!
I would guess that thr RNC no more represents the views of all republicans than the DNC represents the view of all democrats.
The best hope for the country is the moderates of both parties

Real happy where we are sitting. Anti-gunners are almost extinct in Texas. George booboos occasionly but his heart is in the right place. Raised by a good Mama!

That man has to be the most likeable democrat I have ever heard of. Well written with something you do not see from many libs:common sense and common courtesy. I applaud him for doing his homework and taking a stand!

I would guess that it's a reference to the notion (said to be common among hunters) that goose guns and deer rifles have a valuable sporting purpose, but it's OK to ban handguns and military-style rifles.

As to the subject line of this thread, just come to California and you'll see that the Democratic party *is* lost. Of the gun-related legislation being tracked and reported by the California Rifle and Pistol Association, every single piece of anti-gun legislation originated with a Democrat. There are politicians here, invariably Democrats, who do *nothing but* introduce anti-gun legislation. As displeased as I am with our RINO governor, I shudder to think what will happen when we get another Democrat in that position.

Tim, I think he was trying to say that he doesn't hunt, so he doesn't care if the overloards are kind enough to allow us only hunting rifles and double barrel shotguns when all other guns have been taken away.

As for the rest of the Gun forum over there, there are quite a few people wqho think just like him. Of course, there are also the loonies, too, but th usually get put in their place by those that know the facts.
 
The article is a start but it still doesn't change anything. Liberals want control and they want you and me to fall in line. If we have any power over them (Firearms) they are not happy. It is not a case of ignorance or them trying to do the "right thing". They want our names on a list, they want to have control over the people. I don't necessary like the policies of the rank and file republicans but the liberals do have grand overreaching plans if they can gain control. We have seen what true liberalism/socialism has done throughout the world (soviet union, cuba, china, N korea, and so on). This is what it will get to if we can not be armed and can defend ourselves against tyranny( can not spell) . My point is that the anti gun movement is more than just ignorance and "for the children" just like everthing else with liberals it is about an agenda and control.

I know what he's trying to say about hunting and hunting guns...

However, skeet = clay targets, and references to hunting guns and him being a non-hunter would appear to be a non-issue.

SAVE THE SKEETS !!! Ban hunting. ;)

I guess I just don't get it.
