dealing with folks who don't understand CC

trying to have a discussion with the non beievers is well nevery going to happen.

everything you say will only prove their point, no matter how it disproves their point.

for example "you dont need to carry a gun, just call a cop", but suzie, "your only calling the cops because the cop has a big ol 12quagein his car and you dont"

Newton sums it up nicely. You call a cop because something happens where there is a threat present and somebody with a weapon may be needed. Well, I'd rather just save my own skin rather that present an easy target while I wait for the somebody with a weapon to show up and hopefully save me.

somebody as this or something like this at the bottom of all there post .

WHEN SECONDS COUNT , REST ASSURED THE COPS ARE ONLY MINUTES AWAY !:mad::(

I do not think there really is anything to, 'Understand'. I doubt that logic, or reasoning intellectually will provide a specific answer. That is because I believe carrying a weapon is emotion based. The emotion being fear based.

Yep, concealed is concealed. Or like they say, what they don't know won't hurt them.

Most of my non-gun friends don't know I carry, and I prefer it that way.

Fear can be good?

That is because I believe carrying a weapon is emotion based. The emotion being fear based.
Interesting observation, using "fear" as the "emotional" basis as opposed to "being prepared".

One holding perhaps a negative connotation by some, the latter a positive.

But then again, the phrase "I was in Fear for my life" is one we hear/read used by LEOs and others who walk in harms way daily and are forced to use their weapon in self defense. As such, a useful conciousness to have & hold when harm is in your face and you want to go home alive and well. A concept easily grasped by most.

I fear fire in the house and at the office, so I do have an extinguisher or two handy. Fearful? Or am I being prepared for a situation I hope to avoid? Both.

"being prepared" is not an emotion. I suspect "being prepared" falls among the fear based emotions for motivation to become.
