Concealed carry for a cook

Find an "Airlite" or a Ruger LCP. They are perfect pocket guns. I carry both at times. They are light enough not to drag your pants down. Good luck.

Ankle holster - I use a Kramer for a Ruger LCR .357. I would advise though to try an ankle weight for a couple days, or a cheap ankle holster just to see if the method is comfortable for you. I did that with a $20 holster first, decided I liked it, and only then sprung for the Kramer.

Man, I am sorry but, I just don't think crooks should be carrying guns.

Oh.....you said....cooks:D Well, that's ok.

For deep concealment under loose clothing, you can't beat the SmartCarry (or Thunderwear or what have you). It's what I use under gym clothes or summer-wear. Comfortable, conceals well, accessible, affordable.

As for ankle holsters, a few guys I know have had to draw from one in a hurry, and they no longer use 'em.

This is the first thing I thought of for a cook. A little difficult to conceal, but it serves double duty.

Not a fan of ankle carry and haven't tried CC underwear but those sound like good ideas in your case. Will need to spend a few hours or a day in Denver soon, considered flying without checking a bag (with gun) but now not so sure.
As you know the apron only works if you supply your own and wearing a furnished one makes drawing any weapon near the waist problematic.
All kidding aside the items close at hand make excellent weapons, may buy you time to deploy from a less-than-optimal holster.

Another idea what about a holster shirt with a little 380 or 38. It looks like a normal underarmor type tshirt but puts a gun in a normal vertical shoulder holster postition. Ooh poly may not be a good idea in a kitchen though

Another vote for the P3AT or LCP pocket carry. It's not ideal but they are lightweight and the most comfortable way to carry. I have a 5.11 Holster Shirt and I never use it because it is uncomfortable and needs to fit very tight to keep your gun from flopping around and that sucker is HOT!

If this could be an option for you in conjunction with pocket carry, mount one of these behind the counter close to where you spend most of your time and have a full size gun available to you in a matter of seconds.

Hhmmm...Well, that was certainly a gratuitously officious little reply tell our chef friend here that he needs to check local laws and his employer's policies---but, at least a constructive suggestion closed that post; i.e., with re: to the ankle holster. One of my vets carries in an ankle holster; conceals pretty well even under his usual jeans. I would imagine chef's pants would conceal an ankle holster even better.--Patrice
