Conceal Rifle Caliber Pistol

There is the Hornaday 75gr TAP SBR load, which was specifically designed for 10.5 inch barrels...It starts off at just over 2100 FPS, dropping to 1800 at 100 yards, but with an energy of between 562 and 580 foot pounds at 100 yards, from Hornaday's literature. 9mm 135gr Critical Duty, my carry round, is moving at 1013 FPS at 100 yards and carries 308 foot pounds - I hope I never have to use my sidearm at 100 yards, though! Even at the muzzle this top of the line defensive ammo isn't up to TAP at 100 yards, only pushing 1162 FPS and 405 foot pounds. TAP at the muzzle has between 784 and 807 foot pounds.
Hornaday's site offers gelatin testing pictures, too.

The two biggest problems I can see carrying a rifle caliber pistol has nothing to do with the cartridge and what it can do, but 1), what a pain it is to conceal and 2), I have to think this might complicate the court battle after the DGU...I could be wrong and legal experts abound to tell me that daily, but it just seems like it could be..."problematic".
