Colt 1917

"the price was $535."

I don't like you.

"Have you tried them in a 1955 S&W Target Model? Rod"

No. But dimensionally the 1917 and the 1950 should be identical in the area of the ejector star, so the Rimz clips for the older S&W .45s should work just fine.

There is a special instrument for removing the cases from an M1917 Colt (or S&W if you prefer. It's called a pencil.
After handling both the M1917s I can see why the medium frames became more popular. I wear a Large size glove but both are a bit of a stretch for me, and my Colt M1917 could benefit from a trigger job.

Hint: when firing a Colt 1917 two handed, pay attention to where your left thumb is. The cylinder protrudes beyond the shield just enough to catch your thumb nail when the revolver recoils. Hurts the first time, and, I hate to admit, hurts worse the second time!

Lesson learned on a S&W 686 shooting .357 MAG.

But, it was my right thumb (I'm a lefty), and there was no second time.
