I am pro campus carry very much so. If you are a legal CCW in your state then you should be good to go. I mean is some school really better at knowing who can and can not carry then a state cert. instructor and a criminal back ground check that you have to go through to get a CCW. I think not.
I take great offense to the statement about young leadership in the Military. I enlisted in the AF at 17 went though basic at 18. Made SRA-E4 6 months early by getting below the zone. Made E-5 first time testing. I was a 21 year old e-5 with 4 troops of which I was there supervisor, responsable for some 580 million bucks of equipment and also seeing combat. I never had an issue with the responsabiltiy and I did have my hand held through it all so I didnt mess up either. 99% of the guys that were under me were good men and would have followed them in the bush anyday of the week if the roles were reversed. I lost a few of them befor they were 21 and that is hard, but my point is if you are old enough to go die for the right to keep and bear arms then you should be considered old enough to do so.
As to the drunken college kid statment, BS, Hell me and my unit drank like guppies when not on duty never once had any issues. Booz is an excuse that people try to use not a reason. Excuses are like A** hole we all have one. Reason are each our own and the "well I was drunk" is pure BS.
I give the guy 2 thumbs way up for defending himself and give the reporter 2 thumbs down for some of the statments and for reasons already pointed out here.
1. not on campus so why bring up he is in college
2. on his own property so it is not important he had CCW permit
3. He was victim of a crime that he stoped so no need for some one to try to put any thought of a wrong doing on his behalf in the picture with any type of wording
He is one of the little heros in this world that go un-noticed. He stood up for himself with in the limits of the law and should be given is due props.
