I will state that the folks here who slam guns due to their place of origin are not doing this board or themselves any good by stealing the topic to make political hay regarding ones choice of what they want to buy.
The parts for some of these guns are being brought in by American companies and Remington is a major player in doing just that.
All of the major manufacturers are building or importing guns to meet the demand and the price point that consumers demand when looking to purchase a gun.
The big manufacturers could care less if they get parts fom ,Turkey, Russia, China, Taiwan, etc. They'll get 'em anyway.
The "save American jobs" mantra is noble but I'm not so sure now that, since NAFTA and other trade agreements that have been put in place, have placed us squarely in a global economy.
What is really funny is that most folks seem to be calling the imported offering as "truck guns".
The Express shotguns manufactured of late should be relegated as "truck guns" or another term would be "ornate club" as is the case with some of the guns that folks have had the bad fortune to malfunction new out of the box,
Yes, I would suggest a domestic make over a foreign gun truth be told,
but will also say that there is not a danged thing wrong with the Hawks, Pardner Pumps, Interstates, or other makes of Chinese origin, other than the fact that some folks, who have no objective experience with these guns, find it easy to slam them because of the fact that they are made in China or whereever else in the world.
I base my opinions on experience and I have experience with the Parner Pump and the Interstate gun in the form of the Hawk 982. That experience has been nothing but good.
The Chinesemakes are excellent guns and may even rise to the exalted appointment of being used as a "truck gun"!
