CDNN No Longer Ships to NY State

They couldn't mark it up enough to cover the legal costs when Bloomberg and his henchman decide to go on another headhunting safari. Do you feel they should punish the consumers in 49 other states by marking up their prices to cover possible legal costs in NY?

Please read my first post--here's some of it:

Find a map.

On it, find New York STATE.

Look at the tiny little area in the bottom right corner of the state.

That's New York CITY.

Bloomberg is in charge there.

Now look at the rest of the state--he is NOT in charge here.

barrett wont ship 50s to cal and wont repair the police guns

This is the first (unified) and best step I've seen so far--I wish the rest of the firearm manufacturers would follow suit. This makes me want to go out and buy a Barret 50 right now.

I would like to see the whole industry declare NY and the DPRK persona non grata and cease any dealings there, including the police.

Thanks. I and all other shooters in NY who are fighting for our rights appreciate your support.

Does everybody confuse N.Y. City with the rest of the state. It's hard to maintain our rights in the rest of the state with the millions of bleeding hearts in N.Y. City voting to put anti gun people in office. We try our best but apparently we don't have the numbers to keep people like shumer and clinton out of our state politics. I want a Comanche single shot pistol for 410 use but unless I can find a used one I guess I'll never get one. If all else fails I guess I'll buy a barrel for my contender. Just an opinion from a Northern New York hillbilly.

Savage Arms won't ship their bolt action pistol to NY either because of that asinine fingerprinting law. Do all the readers of this thread think that we, the always ignored upstaters, voted for Sens. Shumer and Clinton? We the forgotten DID NOT vote for the election buying Bloomberg! Why would a man? whose net worth of some 6 billion spend 85 million of his own money to attain a 500,000 job? POWER! Please don't blame the antigun liberal a**holes on upstate! Lay the blame on the cesspool at the bottom of the Hudson! And I put in 17 years as a union member; I sure as hell know what the stinking dog democrats in this state are about when the topic of gun control comes up! I NEVER voted the current crop in and NEVER would! Give some of us a little credit, will you? Upstate will never be able to outvote New York Shi**y, and we the outvoted have to suffer the indignities heaped upon us by the unknowing unthinking imbeciles downstate! We are in a lose-lose-lose situation with little support from anywhere. Got any better suggestions? Maybe we should import some illegal aliens to give the dems more power?

And, sorry, I still do not understand why pistol manufacturers continue to operate in, and contribute tax money to, states like NY and Mass. that are trying to kill them.

Sure and you want to punish NY! Ok lets boycott NY gun companies the continue to have a signficant presence in that gun hell hole...

Remington, RSR, Rohrbaugh, Numrich, Kimber and?

Do you have a voice? Do you have a car?

Have you ever gone to stand outside one of chuckie's press conferences in a protest for firearms rights?

Yes? No?

Read mine, New Yorkers elected a liberal government who passed restrictive laws that dealers don't want to deal with. Blame your fellow New Yorkers. Like I said it wasn't a snip, it's fact.

I find it hard to sympathize with folks who choose to live in repressive states. These states have little regard for the Constitution, tend to have politicians that are, at a minimum, socialistic, and their structure tends to be directed at socialistic order rather than individual liberty.

Even the "good folks" who do not think and behave in such a manner have elected to abide by the rules of the State, or they would be incarcerated. Staying to "try to effect change" would seem selfless and honorable, but such people must be in a small minority, in a land full of mindless socialistic serfs. Perhaps they should deprive the State of their skills and talents and allow the State to devolve. They could then add their strength to someplace else that is deserving of their time, skill, talent, and sense of liberty.

I have to support CDNN's position, and would like to see them and other firearm and firearm related businesses leave repressive states or choose not to do business with repressive states. Barrett is right on the mark.

If this doesn't bring enough flames for a firestorm, I'll be amazed.

You know, this is the fault of the citizens of New York. Not just because they live there, but because most people in New York let the i**** Bloomberg enforce his tactics where he has no power to enforce. And probably most judges in New York will enforce the laws that Bloomberg passes out.
New York needs to pass legislation on a bill like Virginia has where Bloomberg has no power to enforce his idiotic gun control.

TWB predicted firestorm for his post. Let me get a 20#ABC extinguisher before I continue. We left the DPRK in '92. I could see what was coming, and did not choose to live in a Communist country. After Prop 187 made it a 1-party state in thrall to the Demonrats it was only a matter of time before it turned into West New Jersey, which it did. The whole state is run by L.A. and San Francisco. Re: New York- when the hideous events of 9/11 occurred I looked at it like the equally hideous bombing of the trains in Spain: a tragedy of epic proportions vis-a-vis the evil of harming innocent people (no schadenfreude on my part), but not like it happened in the US of A. The only connection places like the DPRK, NY, MA, etc have to America is that they infest the national legislative bodies with the likes of Teddy the Drowner, Dianne Fineswine, Chuckie the Sneak Schumer, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel, Carolyn McCarthy, Lautenburg, Waxman, et. al. Is it too late to give MA, & NY back to England, which they resemble in political Weltanschauung and the DPRK back to Mexico, which it's becoming? The Demonrats ran me out of the state where I was born and might enjoy living if it were part of America. If I owned a gun company I would not do business in a political entity which was trying to destroy me by hook or by crook. Hooray for Ronnie Barrett!!

I grew up in upstate New York

My family has lived there since 1757! I got a pistol permit at age 18. Yet I left nearly 30 years ago, end except for 5 visits (the last two to bury my parents) I haven't been back.

New York State has always been held hostage to the mass of votes in NYC. You may think it is bad about guns, but really, it is bad about everything. Families living on the same property for nearly 200 years having to get permission from the state (and local govt) to put up a garden tool shed! Registration of every kind of vehicle, whether it runs on the road, off it, in the water or in the air. Mandatory vehicle "safety" inspections. Just before I left, it became mandatory to attend a safety course in order to get a pistol permit. Oh, and the permit? Guns listed by make, caliber, serial# and barrel length. Those guns, and only those guns are permitted to you. Permit not valid in NYC. No concealed carry. Application needed 5 sets of fingerprints, 4 photographs, 3 character references, and after investigation, it was entirely at the discretion of the local judge to approve it or not. One judge would never approve anything with a listed purpose as self protection. A different judge wouldn't approve anything else. And that was 30 years ago! I shudder to think about what it must be like today.

To give you some idea, about 4 years ago, I got a letter from Saratoga County, State of New York, telling me that since I was no longer a resident, that my pistol permit was no longer valid. (I had not been a resident for 25 years) They wanted to know what happened to the guns listed on my permit, and, they wanted the paper permit (about the size of a driver's license) BACK! The word anal doesn't even begin to do justice to this degree of fixation!

My heart does go out to all those shooters and gun owners who, no matter how hard they try, are ground into the dirt by the overwhelming majority numbers of the urban eloi. The politicians are quite aware of the power they control, NYC has about half of the state's population, and as of 30 years ago when I left, they (as a group) were so far out of touch with the reality of the rest of the state as to be comical, if it was not so serious.

Growing up there, I knew from my family that it was not always as bad. Generations past, if you lived outside the major metro areas, you were pretty much left alone, except, of course, for them taking and spending your tax money on themselves. We used to gripe about that, but what could we do? Democracy at work. Those people running the Empire state have certainly turned it into their empire, and they run it as they see fit. They are moving "Excelsior" but they are standing with one of their boots on our neck!

I wish it was otherwise.

As a current resident of NY I have to say that in most part I do agree with what has been posted here however I would just like to add:
-No matter where you live you have politicians in office that for the most part are A--holes.
-Most of the politicians are lawyers...no I will not go into lawyer jokes, I do not need to.
-Having a firearm here is very paper intensive (massive understatment) however even with this I would not live anywhere else for several personal reasons. That is my choice just as it is your choice to reside where u do.
-I thank god everyday that we live (for the most part) in a county where we have the right to make the choices we do and not in a repressive state like China where even simple choices like our internet access and the sights we visit like this one are guided by the regime.P\

PS: It is CDNN's choice to do business when and where just as it is my choice to do business with whomever I choose. BTW buds gun shop will also not ship handguns to NY in addition to all of the below (thanks to our politicians):

California - No Hi-Cap Mags without a Hi-Cap Mag Permit.
No Defense/Clip Fed Shotguns. No Semi-Auto Rifles. No M-16 Bolts.
Los Angeles, Sacramento, & San Francisco, CA - No Ammo without a FFL.
Connecticut - No Semi-Auto Rifles.
Hawaii - No Pistol Mags over 10rds.
Illinois - No Ammo without a FFL.
Maryland – NO GUNS PERIOD PER BUD.
Massachusetts - No Handguns. No Hi Capacity Mags.
No Defense/Clip Fed Shotguns. No Semi-Auto Rifles. No Ammo.
New Jersey - No Hi-Cap Mags over 15rds without a FFL.
New York State – Long Guns only to NY STATE. No Shipping to NYC
Washington DC - No Firearms. No Hi-Cap Mags. No Ammo.
Washington State - No M-16 Bolts.

Yeah, it occurred to me on the way to the gun show that Harry Reid comes from a state in the USA. An anomaly for sure.

"-Most of the politicians are lawyers...no I will not go into lawyer jokes, I do not need to." Lawyers are the larval form of politicians. There I did it for you.

New York

I posted the thread. No, I'm not happy CDNN is not selling in NY. Do I hate NY State and NYC due to that or its gun laws, or liberal parts?

Of course not. Tossing a state into the garbage because of one issue could be done to any state or group by another. Remember the NYC Firemen raising the flag on the ruins of the World Trade Center? All the people of NYC who showed the world how to face tragedy with dignity and resolve and faith? Did it break them? Did it break your area? You wouldn't know, you weren't attacked; it only happened there.

You want to throw out its Theater, and Art and Business and Banking and Investment and the beacon that the city is to hundreds of thousands who believe in the chance to start a life with hope and energy.

and the rest of the state as well?

I had to go thru a lot of paperwork and investigation to get my CCW. Some of this I could do without, some I think is a good idea. I got it. Every official was helpful, some went out of there way to help. No impression at all of a desire I not get it, and every indication they hoped I did.

At least from records a few years ago, which state had the most gun owners per 1000? New York. So, yes a pain sometimes the restrictions. But a gun hating state and people? Don't think so.

And if you want to toss out large groups of people that (supposedly) don't share an issue or political position near and dear to you, get your bags packed because you're next.

Country wouldn't have lasted 20 years with that kind of hatred.

I'm never quite sure how to feel hen a private business does something like this. However what I do know is that those several people that have the "screw cali/NY/mass, we don't need em" 1) don't have an understanding of the electoral college and 2) haven't been reading their history.

Rights are lost a tiny bit at a time. The more and more people use moving as a solution, the smaller and smaller the bubble gets until you have nowhere to move. So sit back, relax and have another laugh at our expense. I'll be returning the favor when all those congressman from my state export all of our crappy laws to your part of the country.
