Castle doctrine

Alright brothers and sisters, do tell me if this post is an example of contempt for political correctness, or just full-blown racism:

Kill em all let their god sort 'em out.

Votes anyone?

Or the original post:

With all the people coming into our state from the south, it helps you sleep better at night.

Note the two parts. First part implies that a bunch of Mexican are hopping fresh over the border, or cubans fresh off boats (FOB's). The second is the result - because there's Mexicans everywhere, we gotta have the castle doctrine so we can shoot them dirty bastards.

That quote is a very, very BIG BIG difference from just saying, "in this day and age, having the castle doctrine helps me sleep better at night." If you all can't see the difference then well I hope your god will have mercy on your souls.

Seriously, I love America. I love the fact that we are the greatest country in the world. I love the fact that we invented "Mutually Assured Destruction" (M.A.D.). I love the fact that we can make racist comments about Barack Hussein Obama, and get away with it. I love the fact that we are home of the .500 S&W magnum, the Ford Excursion, the Trident II nuclear warhead, Chuck Norris, and Graceland.

I hate the fact that polls show that only 1 in 1000 americans actually know the five basic freedoms protected for them by the 1st amendment. I hate the fact that American soliders have to come back to the country and get labelled as "baby killers" by ungrateful hippies.

And I hate the fact some people actually think that looking for excuses to shoot illegal immigrants, or killing all muslims, is a totally palpable and agreeable statment.

(and suddenly, dozens of TFL members are googling the first amendment)

But hey, that's just me.

molested children

Not gonna touch either camps political policies but the subsequent individual cover ups,,, oh my what can ya say?
Thats what bothered me the most, that a group would cover an individuals atrocities with children is beyond my comprehension.

This thread digressed.

Kentucky passed the Castle Doctrine into law this year and it makes perfect sense to me. In my opinion, if someone is in my home, I feel they are there to kill me. If you want to simply rob me, it's a hell of a lot easier to do it when you know I'm not home. There in if you are in my house and I'm home, you are there to kill me. I don't view retreat as an option in my home. I don't want to shoot any one and I would give some one a chance to flee but if that is refused and they continue towards me I will hold my ground and fire.

To be forced to retreat, in your own home, is at best reckless and at worse a severe injustice.

Applesanity

I see no racism there as Muslims are not a race. They are a religion which spans many races -- just like Christianity.

The guy is merely saying what many people think to themselves. "Racial" profiling is a valuable tool that we all use every day -- including the likes of Jesse Jackson. He once said that when he walks through a dark garage at night he is glad to know the footsteps behind him are a White guy.

Also, if he didn't profile, how would he know where "Hymietown" is?

But seriously, I am a cashier at a major chain and I get customers who speak no English and pay with a food stamp card. The chances are that they are illegal aliens but I have no way of knowing that. I can assume that though, can't I?

I used to drive a car that was popular with gang members when I lived in L.A. I also used to drive around late at night in the San Fernando Valley. I would get stopped nearly every night because I drove an older car that was popular with gang members. They would treat me the same way every time. They would do the warrant check, the ID, the registration, etc. and there was never anything like "Oh, you're a White guy. Sorry."

I knew why I was being stopped and it didn't bother me. It took a few minutes out of my busy, busy night of driving aimlessly around town in the middle of the night doing nothing in particular. Being an insomniac, I liked to drive around while the rest of the city was sleeping.

Remember when they had the riots in Cinncinnatti? The "Black leaders" claimed the police were racially profiling people and that they should stop. They did.

Crime and murder skyrocketed and those same leaders who called for ending racial profiling then stated that the police were ignoring the Black community.

Ya just can't win.

What, like a 1978 lowrider Cadillac El Dorado with gold-plated rims? Just kidding.

The difference here is that you probably chose your car. You chose to look the part, or at least, the look you chose just happened to fit the part.

I don't think your average Arab Muslim chose to be born neither Arab, Muslim, nor have a foreign-sounding name.

If i go to a job interview, I choose to look the part of a fit and proper potential employee. I wouldn't be too hopeful if I chose to arrive wearing bandanas and baggy jeans. It'd be my own fault if I got rejected. But if I got some sort of second-class citizen treatment simply because I wasn't the same ethnicity/religion/____ as my employer, I'd be pissed as hell.

Then I'd call my lawyer and embrace the litigiousness of America.

Black 1947 Plymouth 4 door with suicide doors. The gang members LOOOOOVE those suicide doors.

Really? Surprising. Personally I was visualizing something along the lines of a 1964 Impala, only minus the usual Daytons and switches and what not.

"Noo Maan" spoken slowly, "A Montiee carrlo with dingle balls hanging down, twice pipes. and bucket chairs maan". "Oh Hey homie don't forgeet the dice on the mirrror" " we're gonna sit real low and drive real slow and be looking goooood".

Sorry been gone from there too long to remember what word would be replaced with good. I have ridden is cars about like that as my Ex (kids mom earlu 70's) had tons of hispanic friends. So I attended Mexican, weddings, partys, to just hanging out etc. Long time ago and far away,be the only white guy many times, but good memories. Guess Inever told my surfer type of friends as I doubt many wouldhave understood I always did like seeing all of society I could from stuff like that to wild biker parties in the desert or ones near relitives in the hollywood hills.I giuess I miss being young huh? OMG Tijuana at 16 or 18 with a pocket full of bucks man oh man,....They have made movies about stuff like that. he he,,

I've always had a thing for the 1973 Pontiac Trans Am. It was the last of the greats.

We can thank Ralph Nader for that.

Anyone going to respond to what I said about choosing to look the part, vs. being born the part? Or we can talk about cars.

Everyone can agree on cars, at least. Or we can talk about American Idol and how Howard Stern is rigging the votes.

apparently 999 in 1000 americans have forgotten. Seriously. The five basic freedoms of the first amendment, and only one out 1000 americans know it.

I'm so grateful that America is the home of the Ohio-Class nuclear submarine. I wonder of the 2nd amendment allows me to keep and bear one of those.

You know, I spent a lot of time hanging out with one of our interpreters, and I'd say I came about as close as most Americans can to catching a glimpse of how the world looks to him. It was enlightening, sad, and made me appreciate every day I spend here in the good ol' US of A that much more.

Every year when the sun finally pokes out up here I remember how much I want to start saving up for a Harley.

I have never watched American Idol or listened to Howard on my own.

Keep it that way. Seriously. My wife likes American Idol, and I absolutely cannot stand it. As for Stern, I've hated him ever since he dominated several hours a day of my favorite rock station back in Phoenix.

You know, between this and some of the reminiscing in the California thread I almost wish we just had a general chat thread. I don't have much firearms related to talk about over in General-D (since I never have time to shoot nowadays, and couldn't really bring my gun(s) down here anyway due to some seriously stupid rules at my school).

*shrug*

I think talkin' too much politics with a group of people without enough general shooting of the bull isn't always healthy.

Not trigger happy

Sorry if I sounded like that. I was trying to convey that it makes Texans feel safer with out the liability if they HAVE to defend themselves. Funny, right after the news came out a mechanic was called to his shop because someone was breaking in. When he arrived before the cops, he confronted them and shot one of them in the head. There are approximately 660,000 fugitive aliens in this country. There are also alot of every other kind of criminal out there. And since the Trans-Texas corridor will begin here, I feel less concerned if I ever have to defend myself.

KUMBAYAAAAA.....

oh wait, where's the fire?

Anyway maybe we should get back on topic to castle doctrine and what it means to us. Like me being allowed to defend my wife/children when and if I have them...
