Capital Punishment for the Innocent

[COUGH]So funny that the one person who didn't want to turn this thread into a religious debate is the very same person single-handedly steering the discussion that such a direction.[/COUGH]

How a religious person using a religious argument any worse than an atheist using an "I'm better than you because I have no soul" argument?

Religion if I recall correctly was brought into this subject by someone else, if you want me to find the exact post I can do this.

And as far as anyone being better than anyone...I do not remember ever making such accusations, my point is - in a debate using ones religious beliefs to win shows nothing more than a narrow mind.

I see. And would you take it as the truth if someone told you, for example, that light cannot escape from a black hole? You'd say "Sounds reasonable to me" ?
I'm going to ignore the other side of that argument because I honestly don't care but as far as this goes, yes. :D I know that light cannot escape from a black hole because the math is sound. I know it as well as I know what state I'm currently in and what color my hair is.

You guys are so 20th century. Read here for an overview of Black hole evaporation and current theory.

The problem with quoting the bible, is that there really is nowhere to go when you argue with someone quoting the Koran. If you refute the concept of a jihad, then you in a sense refuting your own arguments and taking ANY argument into a "my God is bigger than your God" situation. Which is good reason why religion isn't a valid topic on this board.
