This post was totally wrong and I have offered an apoligy to the Forum, I should have checked it out before posting, I was in a hurry but that is no excuse. To Mr. Obama if you have by chance read this or if it was bought to your attention Please accept my Aploigy for a hasty and wrongful posting of this information.

Might want to learn to write correctly and perhaps double check your facts before posting.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- Allegations that Sen. Barack Obama was educated in a radical Muslim school known as a "madrassa" are not accurate, according to CNN reporting.

But reporting by CNN in Jakarta, Indonesia and Washington, D.C., shows the allegations that Obama attended a madrassa to be false. CNN dispatched Senior International Correspondent John Vause to Jakarta to investigate.

"This is a public school. We don't focus on religion," Hardi Priyono, deputy headmaster of the Basuki school, told Vause. "In our daily lives, we try to respect religion, but we don't give preferential treatment."

Vause reported he saw boys and girls dressed in neat school uniforms playing outside the school, while teachers were dressed in Western-style clothes.

"I came here to Barack Obama's elementary school in Jakarta looking for what some are calling an Islamic madrassa ... like the ones that teach hate and violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan," Vause said on the "Situation Room" Monday. "I've been to those madrassas in Pakistan ... this school is nothing like that."

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.

I'll remain alert as soon as you can come up with some supporting cites for the info in your OP, particularly ones that aren't "news" blogs.

Also, assuming you can't back up the "radical Islam" aspect, and can instead show only that he was once a Muslim, I'd like to see a rational argument as to why a Muslim president would be objectively bad.

Lastly, I'd like to know why we should be alert because of a bunch of half-baked crap that may or may not be true, rather than be alert because his stances on many political issues (including gun control) lean toward the controversial.

Like him or not that is propaganda. The dude isnt a terrorist and I beleive hes a christian. Run home now and let the grown ups talk.

But, but, I swear, it's true! I read it on da innernet!

The interwebs, they never lie to us. I wonder when that Nigerian prince is going to get back to me?

Of course, we could always talk about how the guy wants to ban all semi-automatic weapons. That might be pertinent. Or we could talk about how he hasn't really done anything, and rather is running pretty much on raw charisma and no substance. That's an issue.

But those don't let us get into some tasty Muslim bashing.

hey...lets..do this...

Close this thread!

PS...the guy is a political lightweight, lets focus on that

Seriously, I'm a diehard liberal and I don't get what is so special about the guy. He's a decent speaker, bit of an idealist, and (aside from his stance on guns) not a horrible candidate...but not anything to write home about, either. He's spam.

I loved on The Daily Show a while back, when Jon Stewart was like "And, this just in...*angelic chanting*...yes, that's right...Obama did something."

This may be the most cogent statement found in this thread.

His religion is not an issue and WILL NOT be a subject of discussion on this site.

His paltry accomplishments and socialistic tendencies are fair game, however. :D

Except there isn't really much to talk about there, either. There's just nothing to the guy.

I mean, if somebody accused him of being the Antichrist I might just have to give them a listen...because I'm just not getting how somebody with so little going for them other than a pretty smile has actually managed to capture this much of the public's attention and managed to be taken seriously as a candidate for president. I wish Jim Webb ran for President >.>

YES.

I sincerely hope that has [/sarcasm] tags wrapped around it I can't see.

I would vote this elections' (prospective) candidates as the worst lineup in history since 1824.

I agree with WildAlsaka.

Let's just close this thread.

It is just another.."hey this guy is evil because he is different than me and the rest of my uneducated bubba friends" thread.

It might also lend a little credibility if the original poster knew how to spell candidate.

Don't forget that the first ammendment protects freedom of ALL religions. Besides, think about what would happen if we had a radical islamic president. He wouldn't bomb his own country now would he? Just kidding.

He was the state senator for Illinois and was elected to the U.S. senate with a landslide 70% vote. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law. He sponsored 152 bills and resolutions brought before the 109th Congress in 2005 and 2006, and cosponsored another 427. I guess that none of these count as acheivements.

You don't have to agree with the guy (heck, I don't agree with him), but making up stupid lies about him isn't exactly right either. Heck, he is a senator... what have you accomplished? I suggest you either cite your sources or modify your post.

I fully understand and tend to agree, but when a man is to "maybe' be our leader and hold the most powerful position in the world( debatable) isn't the whole man important?

Like playboy said I guess I am the uneducated bubba, beneath his standards I guess, but I do like to be informed and not have things hidden from view PC or not. It is my vote I have only one it is one of many but it is mine if ya catch my drift.

I have heard that statement about Mr. Obama before. I know the main stream press will avoid it like the Plague. If so is should be out if untrue that also should be in the light. correct or not is is a part of the person and when you out to be my leader I wanna know aboutja.

"Heck, he is a senator... what have you accomplished?"

Interesting way of looking at things. Do you mean that we should not be commenting on political candidates unless we have held a political office equal to, or higher, than the one they have attained?

+1

Fear mongering over his having been a Muslim at one point is just what the Clinton camp is counting on. Last I saw, he was attending a Christian church, but I guess if it ain't the RIGHT Christian church the "wingnuts" will attack that too.....

Heck, he is a senator... what have you accomplished?

Touche. ;)

Though it's more fair to compare his achievements to other politicians, rather than the average Joe.

And rem33, seriously just drop it. Though in fairness that would go to Playboy, too. Maybe a mod should just nuke that OP from orbit (just to be sure).

Sorry you and I disagree on just about everything but I sir am entitled to my opinion same as you, unless I get booted. You attacked me before because you and I didn't agree. You sent me several pvt. messages trying to get me to stop disagreeing and complained. I disagree with lots of folks here I try not to get personal. But when someone makes it personal to me, or comes off as Superior I take exception, and I shouldn't I know.

My apologies sir.

Part of anyone is their religion or lack there of and when your running for public office I want to know. this is not the place to debate the goods or bads of that sort of thing but Muslim, Hindu Buddhist Atheist Christian etc etc I want to know before I place my vote.
Sorry if I spelled any of those wrong.

My belief is every candidate should be required to answer a questionnaire with about 100 pertinent questions about themselves and currant affairs but alas it isn't so.
